Silly Question Rss

This might sound silly but do you calculate your baby's age by weeks or months?
Like when you book them in for needles is it at 16 weeks or 4 months as they aren't always the same? IYKWIM

I was told that the 4 month needles have to be 4 months from date of birth (not the weeks). So if they were born 8th Jan, needles would have to be 8th May, or after.

Not sure why now I think about it...

not sure if its changed but mine were always done at 8weeks then 16 weeks etc.. maybe just ask your doc to give you the date they want you back blink

It was more based on when to start solids??
Ive no idea
Ive been going on weeks and so has my friend but my husband said nah she isnt 6 months..
I think you get used to calculating weeks from when you are pregnant

I always talked in weeks until she was 12 weeks then it was easier to just do months. It more of a guide the 6 month mark for solids so I would just go by months. It's not going to matter if your a week out. smile

i asked my health nurse the same thing, she said they go weeks until 12wks and then they go months

Regarding starting solids - check with your doctor as I have been old by child health nurse & paediatrician that they now recommend starting solids between 4 - 6 months ( as long as your baby is showing interest & can hold head up) as this reduces the chance of developing food allergies.
