solids 1st then bottle? Rss

Ds is 6.5months n having 4bottles a day n 3 solids. He's been really fussy in the bottle n mycks around I've tried feeding him in a dark quiet room but no luck. I know plunket says to give bottle 1st the solids but is that really important? Can I just give him some solids then a bottle? He seems to drink more if I do it that way.
Otherwise he will just go without for ages
could he be having too much solids, at that age 3 is a lot, the reason they say do milk first is because their diet should still be mostly milk until about 10months or so as at this stage they aren't getting much nutrients from their solids / a wide range of nutrients.7
you could call the plunket line and see what they say, but if it was me I would probably cut down the solids (maybe keep at 3 a day but say maybe only a teaspoon or two each time)

I was going to say pretty much exactly the same. He's prob not hungry for the milk as is getting so much solids. I would cut back to 2 a day and see how you go. GL smile
Ok I'll try cutting back. He's only having abit a teaspoon or 2 at a time anyway. Thanks ladies. I didn't realise I missed the 1st wilds class plunket does so kind of just been going off what other ppl have told me.
