Teeth effecting solids Rss

So Ds doesn't have teeth yet and while I am not worried about the teeth not coming through in general I am worried about the effect its having on some of his solids.
We do finger foods for lunch and he eats that fine by gumming it to teeth, we have fruit or wheetbix for breakfast, all mushy lumps but not big bits.
Dinner is the problem, I found a really good egg, milk free spagetti bolonese baby food, and I noticed he spat out all the big lumpy bits, the jar is marked 6 months and up, but he won't eat it, I thought okay he doesn't like spagetti fair enough its gross after all.
But if we get anything if more than a little lumpy in it, such as peas or rice it gets all spat out,s o i find myself trying to give food that he isn't getting through other things (eg lots of iron) but have to revert to baby baby food cause otherwise he won't touch it any advice?

I would just keep going with the larger lumps, it may just take him awhile to get used to the texture. When DS had no teeth I would puree up the meat and put it in with say mash potatoes then give him softer finger food. He'll get used to it, also we just gave DS any food, if he didn't eat it no biggy as he was still getting nutrients from formula at that age.
