8 month old refuses to take bottle Rss

Hi, at the moment I am trying to wean my 8 month old son (who has been exclusively breatfed) from breast to bottle with little success. I am also giving him formula. He either cries or chews on the teat. Even when my husband attempts to feed him he refuses the bottle. Any suggestions would be fantastic. smile
what are the reasons behind the weaning?? my guy self weaned slowly last feed around 16 odd months, maybe offer the bottle in the afternoon when he isn't deprate

Im sorry I cant really help you with this one as I had the same problem with DD1! (and I tried EVERYTHING!!!) So I really had no choice but to keep BF her until she had figured out how to effectively drink from a cup- about 10 months.

I just made up a little formula at a time and offered it to her in a cup and eventually she figured it out!

Good Luck smile
He has been biting me when I feed him causing me to bleed. It is so painful! I have tried eveything to stop him biting but nothing seems to work.

I still breastfeed him at night when he wakes but during the day attempting to bottle feed. Thanks for the idea about the sipper cup will give it a go.
we used hoppop its like a sippy cup but the lid doesn't screw on so until they get the hang of it you need to hold it, but there's nothing for them to chew on like a sippy cup or bottle.
we started DS on it at 6months when he started formula.
good luck.
