Losing a lot of weight breastfeeding!!
Hey ladies, did any of you lose a lot of weight while breastfeeding, it's been 3months and I'm the skinniest I've ever been, I've gone out twice to buy new clothes that fit but whithin a couple of weeks I lose more weight and need new clothes again!! I'm eating like a pig at the moment too lol.
Yep I was so skinny I didn't actually believe it!! And I ate heaps too most of the time. And then when I stopped breastfeeding I put it all back on and more sad

Argh! *stomps feet in jealous rage*
I lost a bit of weight, but I was soooo insanely hungry I was basically eating non-stop! Didn't put any on after stopping though so I guess that's a good thing

You're so lucky!! everyone told me that you lose weight so easy while breastfeeding, was soo looking forward to it, but I ended up putting weight on!! I was GUTTED!!! But congrats to you!! grin
I was like Kat. I was absolutely starving would eat like 8 times a day and just couldn't fill myself up!
I lost some in the first 8 weeks but then stacked on the weight after that.

I wish!!! I'm hoping when I have #2 that's what happens LOL but with DS I was baking pretty much every 2nd day and someone had to eat it hahahah so I ended up putting on 5 kgs.

Boobs looked awesome though ... I guess that's compensation tongue

Please let this be true for me!!
I would love to be skinny. I'll breastfeed forever if it works!

I didnt lose alot of weight while breastfeeding because I was always fairly slim, but I definitely lost abit, ate HEAPS of food every day, and found it hard just to maintain my weight so I didnt look sickly thin.
I posted a thread about it many months ago actually & a few lovely ladies gave some good responses. I cant remember everything they suggested, sorry.

oh thats good smile yeah im so scared to stop haha ill have to start eating healthier and way less..and probably exercise too sad sad

Yep I lost bucketloads with dd, was nice for a while - but by the time I weaned her at 13 months I HAD to wean her. I was like a stick no matter how much I ate, and I was actually beginning to feel ill and tired/deficient in everything my body needed.
She was a HUGE baby even though she was born 6lb 4oz, and didn't start solids til 12 months (not by my choice, she refused). She had all the weight on that I needed!! lol

I'm so jealous, every time I've breastfed I have put weight on,and I have to wait till I've finished bf to lose it again. Its so annoying, if I skip a meal I don't have as much milk, and it completely dried up the other week when I tried to eat a bit less and lose a bit of pregnancy weight, so I have to make sure I eat enough and getting on the scales everyday is just depressing lol. (I'm only express feeding, so I can really easily tell how my diet is affecting my milk supply)

Yeah I have lost quite a bit...I am currently 7 or 8 kg below my pre-pregnancy weight (so about 55 kg now)...and bubs is 8 months. am still feeding on demand so think this may have something to do with it?
Inlaws and friends were always making comments that I am too skinny nd I was starting to get worried (and a bit offended - people constantly watching what I eat and telling me to see a dr), but my Mum and sisters were all the same...I eat heaps blink
My CHN recommended swapping all dairy (milk, yoghurt, cheese etc) from hilo to full fat. She also told me to make myself bacon and eggs for breakfast daily...
I don't have alot of advice sorry...if you hear of any can you let me know please? wink

I didnt lose heaps, but was always, always starving so it was nice to be able to eat whenever I wanted and not worry too much about it. grin
I am actually now down to my lowest weight since falling pregnant the 1st time so expect that BF DD2 for 12 months has something to do with it!!
I did notice that by about 6mths my appetite had settled down again, and now I am back to my normal eatng habits.

With my first I did - and quite quickly too! But, I was also going for a long walk every second day - which I couldn't do after having babies 2 & 3! It has taken almost 2yrs since having DD2, for me to be at a weight I find accepting for me (I'd still love to lose another 2-3kgs though) - it has been sooo hard this time 'round to lose it!

They didn't really get bigger... just filled out and were 'perkier' lol (this was after I stopped, during bf they'd be 8 diff sizes over the course of a day!). I don't know why ppl worry about it wrecking your boobs, mine were never better!

I put on 20kg pregnant with DS, lost it all within 6mths BF'ing. However...I did put 3kg on after he weaned (@11mths) over the next year. You can eat so much and not have to worry, it's great! Hope it works again this time as i'm already heavier than I was full term with DS mellow
I only put on about 5kg when pregnant with ds, he was born 9 weeks early so who knows how much more weight I'd have put on smile
Anyways I lost that plus an extra 10kg whilst breastfeeding!! I even ate like a piggie too but the weight just dropped off.
However once I stopped bf the weight slowly crept back on but luckily for me though I only put back on 5kg....lots of healthy eating & outdoor walking with ds in the pram helped!! laugh
