Milk Supply dropped when taking the mini pill Rss

Hi,

I noticed on Monday my baby was sucking and hurting my breast, by Tuesday my breasts had changed dramatically almost deflated and I tried to express but was not getting much milk at all. Luckily I had some breast milk in the freezer to feed my baby. I phoned the Australian Breastfeeding Association who gave some good advice. I put this down to the fact that I started the mini pill last Friday after my 6 week checkup with the doctor.I went to the doctor who has given me some tablets to help increase the milk supply. These are now starting to work however I am too scared to keep taking the pill in case this happens again.I am still expressing to boost my supply. Has anyone had this happen to them?
Hello! I can relate to this big time, I started the mini pill when my DS was about 2 months and within a week my supply had almost vanished. I stopped it right away and within a couple days of cluster feeding my milk came right back.
Everything you put in your body effects your milk in some way, it's personal opinion but I found it best to stop and use contraception that's hormone free. I'm a bit of a hippy that way anyway ^.^
It's common due to the hormonal changes the pill induces

Not personally, but I have heard that if you start the mini-pill before 8-12 weeks that it can impact on supply.

I went for my 6 week check up and mentioned that due to health stress, my supply was down and the doctor warned me off the mini pill as it can decrease your supply.
