VBAC Rss

Hey there
My son, now 5 months, was born via c-section because he never fully engaged and in the last few days of my pregnancy he moved into an oblique position and continued to turn until traverse he was not a small baby (4018g), and went to full term.
We are wanting another baby and I would really like to try for a VBAC, I have asked midwifes, doctors, plunket nurses and nobody will give me any advice on how long I need to wait before concieving again for my safest opportunity and best chance of achieving a VBAC, any knowledge, advice or ideas would be hugely appreciated!

Hi Alysha,
There is really no set time to wait to help you achieve a VBAC. If you feel well and are healthy then there is no reason to wait a certain time. If you want to have the best opportunity for a VBAC it is advisable to talk to as many potential carers as possible to discuss your situation and you can then decide on your best option. Typically a Birth Centre provides a more natural approach.
Best wishes,
Alex.

I'm having my and child by vbac 17 months after first c-section.the stats I got from hospital say that 18-24 months from one birth to the next is optimal fir vbac but doesn't preclude you trying if you conceive ealier those months justbhelp give scar time to heal:)
