not sure whats going on??Reflux? Rss

hi, my 10 week old baby girl seems to always posset after feeds for past 6 weeks.. she has only had a few times where she has seemed in pain ...doctor suggested she may have silent reflux...
was told to give her 1ml mylanta before each feed..which has seemed to really help. she still brings up milk but seems so more content. she sleeps well during the night but during the day i find she catnaps at times.
my question being with the mylanta will it do any harm and how long should i use it for??
alsdo is it possible that she just has a very mild case, as i have waited for it to get worse but seems to be ok with her taking the mylanta?????
Hi,
Thanks for contacting our organisation. It's great that your doctor was open to the idea of reflux, as it can sometimes be really tough to get a diagnosis. It's great that the Mylanta seems to be effective enough for her too, but of course you have concerns about continuing to use it.
Please talk to your doctor, to see if they are happy you continue to use it, as often they will prescribe medication that is meant for longer term use, especially if Mylanta continues to settle her. It's always best to talk to your doctor if you have any concerns- at the very least you get peace of mind out of it!

It is possible she has a very mild case of reflux, as there is quite a wide range of ways it presents. I do believe though that you should still follow your instincts as you try to help your bub feel more comfortable- it really doesn't matter if their case is mild or not.

I hope that helps
Glenda
