what products are good

hi,
my 8 month old boy has eczema on his arms,legs and face. he doesn't itch it but it looks sore especially when there are flare ups. Every now and then he gets pimple like spots that look very painful. i have tried QV lotion and flare up oil, dermaveen and most recently calendulis plus ( which seemed to make it worse).
I was just wondering what are other good products to try as it appears to be getting worse and i would like to prevent this.
Any advice would be great.

I have a 5yr old girl who has had severe eczema since 4mnths of age. I also have a 10mnth old boy who only has a couple of little spots.
Q.v bath never did my kids any good, so i use oilatum emollient it really puts some moisture back into there skin.
The only thing that helps my daughter is advantan cream ( prescription) as well as a good non purfumed moisturiser, then i use wet dressings during the night wich also helps her to sleep with out scratching. I have been to 4 different skin specialists who have all said different things, shes been sent to hospital because it would get infected. When it got infected it came up with pimple like spots so that might be whats happening to your boy. I strongly suggest to put wet dressings on him. I wish you all the best and i hope it gets better Its such a hard thing as a parent to see your child in pain with it and as they get older they will start to scratch themselves. let me know how you go.

Just to be sure it would be best to have the diagnosis confirmed by your GP. Eczema is usually itchy but may not cause your baby any problems if it is mild. It would be a good idea to get it under control so that it does not become more severe and disturb her sleep etc. Always use hypoallergenic products and remember that as each eczema sufferer is different, finding the right treatment is a trial-and-error process. Remember to always try products in a small area first and rinse in clear water immediately if an adverse reaction occurs.

Hi Melinda
Check your laundry detergent. I switched to a sensitive one (i use omo sensitive or earth choice sensitive) and my 6 month old's skin has cleared up considerably. I also found the QV creams not very good. I now use Aveeno Baby and Dermeze. Unfortunately all babies are different so what works for one may not work for the other and its all trial and error. Hopefully you find a solution soon. Good luck!

a friend of mines daughter has it slightly and she uses aveeno moisturizer and it works amazingly.
