Immune System Boosters Rss

My daughter has always had a compromised immune system due to a few severe allergies and being a mild to moderate asthmatic as well.

We haven't had a very good start to the year, she is home sick again today due to picking up another cold/cough/flu from school. This is her third sick day home this year, and it is only week 3.

I was wondering what things I could give her to take to boost her immune system?

Currently, she takes a kids multivitamin and also a kids cold/flu echinacea tablet most days, but these are Herron brand which you can get from the supermarket and I have to question their effectiveness.

I have heard that Evening Primrose Oil can be good? My daughter has severe allergies to dairy, egg and nuts.

Thank you in advance!

Wow, I posted this back in February, and still have not received a reply. Thats pretty poor for an "advice" thread. sad

Hi, have you tried inner health? They make a dairy free version which is capsules, but you can break them open and mix it into water or food etc. There is a theory that alot of your immune system stems from your gut, so using something like this to strengthen and balance your gut will improve your immune system.

Herron vitamins are usually pretty good, but if you wanted to try another brand, Blackmores are usually pretty reliable with higher concentrations of ingredients etc. Steer clear of Centrum and any of those gummibear style vitamins because they have minute concentrations of ingredients.
So does the read only part mean that I cant weigh in and say my bit??

Well I will anyway grin , I highly recommend floridix liquid as a multi and a immune booster.

It comes in kindervital which is a kiddies one. YOu may have to read the ingredients though.

I give my 5 year old Floradix Floravital - we both take it, its for kids and adults and I know I feel better taking it and have seen improvement in her too. She's only been sick once in 6 months and recovered pretty quickly. Floradix is a liquid supplement which is far more easily absorbed by the body than tablet vitamins.
