DS is finally....

My DS1 has always had a little trouble with some sounds/words, when he was 3 he had a speech assesment done and we were told it was all age appropriate(sp?)they gave us some exercises to do at home and away we went.

Then at 4y when he was in Kinder he was still having trouble so we asked to have him assesed again but they said NO as he was school age they couldn't help it was up to his School to help but of course the School doesn't do anything until they are in prep sad
we could have taken him to a private speechy but again the Kinder teacher and the CHN said it was age appropriate and wasn't really an issue,that he would probably improve when he started to learn his letter's and sound's in prep!

So here we are he's now 6y and in prep and he's doing really well and has improved a LOT but his teacher has noticed he's still having a bit of trouble so is now getting a private speech therapist too come in to asses him grin

I started to think I was just putting too much presssure on him but now that his teacher has mentioned it I feel better and will from now on always trust my mother's instinct!!!

According to me it is nice that you are providing him a speech therapist to develop his speech. By a speech therapist pressure is not increases upon your child. By a professional speech therapist your child will become able to speech in front of all people with fluency and accurately.
