kids have no manners these days Rss

We took about 15 boys( aged 8-12) to a laser tag party. It included lunch at a nearby pizza place.Luckily they sat the boys outside so and they could not disturb too many other patrons.Throwing food, making farting noises and burping competitions seemed to be the way the kids behaved in a restaurant.Dh had to put on his school teacher voice on and got a few of them to move so they were not next to each other. He asked me who invited all these knuckleheads as had he seen the inviation list he would have culled it.Luckily there is only 1 party give next year(ds3 10th) and most of those kids will not be there! Why dont people teach their kids how to behave in public??

I'm sure that most of them do have lovely manners while at home but get them all together I'm afraid thats what most kids that age would do. It is horrible to see but I have seen many that behave this way when they get together for a party. Hopefully your next party goes better.

I think your problem may have started here! 2's company, 3's a crowd but 4 or more boys is asking for all sorts of silliness (lol) especially after being hyped up from laser tag!

my kids are the opposite , they can be quite atrocious at home but are good when at other peoples places/out .I know "boys will be boys" but surely by 10-12 they should know there is a time and place for it.Fortunately for the offenders dh did not have their parents phone numbers or they might have received a call to pick up their kids early!

and the reason we do not do yearly parties LOL.The kids at ds1 party last year did not carry on like that and it was at a remote control car race track with a lot of hyped up kids too.Its the actual kids that ds2 invited, not the number.

Wow, how embarrassing that must have been for you! Something about boys getting together seems to bring out the worst in them - even as adults lol (although by the time they're adults they hopefully find burps and farts a little less funny <img src='http://www.huggies.com.au/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> )
was worse for dh, a high school teacher on holidays at the time- just what he wanted in the holidays.Maybe he should have given them lines to write-I must not have burping competitions at restaurants lol

True, although i found with my little brother that it just takes one little sh!t to affect the behaviour of the majority. When's his next party? 13? Maybe make a mental note of the 'undesirables'.

Lol yes your poor DH - must have been just like work for him laugh
Thats awful, I also think by that age they should know better!

there is a boy in my DS1 class who is horrid, the other day his mum was saying he had 2 party's on the one day a school one she didn't stay at from 11-2pm and a family one she did stay at from 2-6pm she said by the last game he was throwing a tantrum becuse he didn't win a prize the poor thing was so tired but I guess they all act like that at that age!!!

She didn't once think that maybe the sugar and hype from 11am-6pm was to much for a 6y old and of course her "my poor boy" attitude has nothing to do with why he is a little s**t!

Sounds completely normal to me! I grew up with four little brothers, and they were always like that together, but throw in a party and multiply their number by three or more and it was absolutely ridiculous! One of my brothers' sons had a birthday party a couple of years ago at a bowling place and ALL the little boys there were being crazy - but they were confined to the party room so didn't annoy anyone else. I think it was all the excitement of a party and being together, with the excitement of going bowling which was all multiplied by the junk food!
