implanon nxt advice

i have just been told by my new doctor that i can't be prescribed the pill as i have a heart murmur... until i stopped taking the pill 3yrs ago to get pregnant i was on it for 10yrs! apparently there is a high risk of developing a blood clot. i have never been told this before, but i accept his decision...
he has recommended that i think about getting the implanon nxt, as it is only the one hormone, etc. it is better suited to my "condition".
anyone got it? anyone got any advice? anyone not like it? just want to get a feel for it from others...

I had it too and hated it. I bled almost constantly for 6 months and then begged and pleaded with my dr to have it taken out. They even wanted me to take hormone replacements to settle the bleeding. DH also hated it he said the hormones turned me into a psycho.

thanx ladies. i was thinking i probably wouldn't get it, but now i definately don't want it. there's no way i want bleeding all the time. that'd suck. i was also fearful of the fact that it's something that has to removed & you just can't stop taking it like the pill. looks like we'l just have to stick to stinky old condoms or just bite the bullet & have another baby...
