Present ideas for 5/6 y.o. girls

My eldest DD started school this year and has already gone to 4 birthday parties, and I'm sure there will be many more! I know exactly what she likes, but I don't want to give the same presents for every birthday. So hit me with your ideas. What does your 5/6 year old DD/neice/friends like to get? Preferably no more than $15-$20 if possible. Thanks

for my daughter's 5th bday earlier this year she got a lot of crafty stuff (pens pencils glitter glue scissors stationery stickers etc) she would love anything from smiggle!!

A lot of her friends gave her little mini lipgloss and nailpolish kits (which she loves) I wouldnt have thought of that and don't know if you are into that though?

Otherwise I have seen some cool stuff like decorate your own treasure box/ moneybox/ picture frame (Target or National geographic). I usually buuy books and if you get a good bargain you can add something else little and pretty (eg bracelet/ sticker etc)

Craft pack- just go to the $2 type stores and get paper,glitter,pom poms,feathers and glue etc.
You can get lots of crafty type packs like make your own diary, or paint your own money box from gift stores and spotlight.
Just a nice top and a pair of tights.

My DD has been to so many parties and just turned 6 herself... things that are a hit are:

Umbrellas - you can get nice kids ones for under $20 (some $2 shops stock them at around $9 for a tinkerbell one that's very good quality)

Books - some book stores offer 3 for $10

Lipgloss sets, bubble baths, hair bands, clips

Beads/Jewellry/Bracelets

Crafty things - like make a tiara set, a mosaic jewell box

Stationery Items - gel pens, highlighters, note pads

Jewellry box with the little ballerina that spins round with music - Kmart

Toys R Us often have specials on - barbies at the moment for $7.99, My Little Pony horse with wings $10, box sets often on special for between $10 and $20. Tinkerbell, mermaids, fairies, barbies... always well received smile

My nieces are between 4-11 and I always send them crafty things. Riot art and craft have cute cheap things. Their mum always appreciates it not being another toy in the house!
