Work Closing Down Rss

Hey all
I don't know what to do Where i wirk is a small family business and due to close down about the same time i'm goin to take my maternity leave can you still recieve the payment? as i know the the payment is forwared to your employer from the gov and then forwarded onto you, so now i'm confused
Your payment should come from the family tax office rather than your employer I expect. But if you give them a call they can tell you what will happen smile
Yes you will still recieve it it will just come s traight from centrelink instead of your work place. The only time it will be paid from the employer is if you are returning to work smile
Hi Kristin, I'm pretty familiar with the guidelines as I'm in HR and our team manages this process for our organisation (plus I had a particular interest in understanding the whole thing when we were implementing it!). Based on what you've said, it sounds like you'll definitely still be eligible. The FAO sets out eligibility requirements on their website:
http://www.familyassist.gov.au/payments/family-assistance-payments/paid-parental-leave-scheme/working-parents---eligibility.php

There's heaps of other useful info on their site for you too. HTH and puts your mind at rest smile
