Help please!! Rss

My 4year DS has to have eye drop's every 4hours and he HATES them I'm really struggling to get them in as he won't stay still, over the weekend it was easier as DH was home to hold him but I can't hold him and do the drop's!!!!
Does anyone have any suggestion's please?

Sounds harsh but it needs to be done so I would sit on him (obviously not so hard it hurts though). I would straddle him and pin his arms in with my legs, and try to hook your feet over his knees so you can also lean on his legs. Gee as I'm typing this it sounds like abuse - am I over the top do you think? I just think if you get down, do it quick, it's over and done with in a flash!
when i would have to administer drops and inhaler for my son i use to get a lolly/chocolate and show it to him and say if you let mummy put it in you can have a lolly. but that only worked for a while.

when i saw he was hysterical even seeing it i decided to take him to the shop and he picked out a lil toy for being a good and letting mummy give him the medicine.

a reward chard???

sorry that's all i have. poor lil things it's hard seeing them so distressed.

When you build a house, every brick counts. When you build a character, every thought counts.

i think maybe if you try other methods first to coax him into letting you do it is better, that way in future if you need to do it again he won't freak out cause you have man handled him and been rough.

I don't think this is mean at all. It's very fast and how we have done our daughter reccommended by our docotor. Very easy fast and no fuss.

It is so hard!!! I tried the lolly thing and it only worked one time and I tried to offer any reward he wanted but he just say's no I don't want anything!!!
So this morning I had to pin him down and yes It freaked him out sad I should of put more in at lunch time but I really didn't want to upset him again (plus DS3 is sleeping so I thought Id wait till he wakes up) and was hoping someone on here may have a suggestion I haven't tried!!
Thanks for your help!
