Treadmills Rss

Hi. I want to buy a treadmill. Can anyone who has one give me some advice on good brands or what you would recommend? I'm looking to spend roughly $1500- so probably at the cheaper end of the range, but no so cheap & nasty it falls apart after a year. Thanks, Kylie
Mine is a Tunturi. Its fantastic. I bought it off my brother who paid two and half grand for it. But i would consider looking around and trying to pick one up second hand as i only paid 500 for it lol. If your planning on running on it, i would definately get the bigger based ones, they seem to be able to withstand a lot more. You should be able to get some good ones for what your willing to spend though if you do decide to get one new.
I have an Infiniti which was $2k quite some years ago now. What I looked for was the width of the running mat (I think mine is 50cm?) so it's wide like the ones at the gym. I use it for running so mine goes to 16km/hour (crazy fast) and has an incline of 10 (steep).
I used the features I liked from the ones at the gym but within my price range.
Two things that you shouldn't stint on - the horsepower of the motor and the width of the running mat. Motor power in a treadmill is all important, the absolute minimum is 2.0 h/power. For maximum comfort and balance, a 50cm wide running mat should be the minimum.
we bought a Lifespan treadmill from ebay 6 years ago and its awesome! 5hp motor, extra wide 51cm running mat and all the bells and whistles. Cost us $800 at auction and that included the delivery cost from melbourne to brisbane. Best investment we ever made. Have had so many friends buy from them, most were suprised that it was from ebay lol. My DH is in the Army and runs nearly every night on it and it's taken a beating and is still excellent. Overall the treadmill was comparable to $3000+ treamills in sports stores. Check it out smile
