First Period Whilst Breastfeeding Rss

Hello

Sorry in advance this may be tmi but...

I had my dd via c section 10 months ago, and am still breastfeeding. My dd is now down to 3 bf a day and is having 3 meals and snacks.

Yesterday i got my period back for the first time, so today used a tampon and it hurt really bad sad

During my pregnancy dh and i didn't have much sex as i had bad morning sickness throughout, and since having dd, haven't had much either as it has been quite painful for me (poor dh - hes very understanding though)

Is this normal to have pain down there even though i had a c section? I have googled it, and have seen that some people have pain, but i really didn't expect to have pain from a tampon as they are so small.

Is it just that i have gone so long without sex and using tampons that i need to 'stretch' back, or could there be something else seriously wrong with me???

Sorry for the detailed post, but just a bit worried.

TIA
You poor thing. I can totally relate. I had c sections both times and even months after it was so painful to have sex.

I would avoid tampons for a few more months. In regards to sex, take it slowly, use lots of lubrication and it will get better!! dd2 is coming up for 20 months and sometimes it's still painful (no where near as bad as it was though).

Im trying to remember (im sure my hubby will lol) but i reckon dd1 was at least a year old before i was feeling 'better' down there.

I have had two c-section and I was tender down there for a while. It will get better sometimes it does just take time to stretch back to what it was.

If you are really concerned you should go and see your GP. You will not be the only one with this problem and they can point you in the right direction.

I did not have any issues when using tampons after my kids I would be getting it checked out.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the replies, has made me feel a bit better.

I am a chicken when it comes to medical stuff, so always put off going to a dr for as long as i can unsure

I'll see how i go and if things aren't any better next month then will make an appointment...

Thanks again smile
