Does anyone know how to Rss

Just did the washing and noticed that some of DD2's clothes have grown mould in a day!! Must have had some food on them or something. Does anyone know how to remove mould in clothes?

I know you can use clove oil to remove mould but not sure if it can be used on clothes.

Any ideas please smile

I had some mould appear on one of DS onsies when he was little and mum suggested I try vinegar and then leave it out in the sun. It did get rid of most of it, but I could still see faint marks where it was. I was paranoid and chucked it out just to be on the safe side, but it was only one onsie.
I should say too that it was white... not sure if it would affect coloured clothing smile
For anyone interested I just found this from Shannon Lush (the stain lady). I'm going to try it... once i get enough salt smile.

How do you get mould stains out of linen and clothes?

Use one kilo of salt per bucket of water and soak overnight. Hang the clothing or linen on a clothesline without rinsing it. Once it dries, a salt crust forms on the fabric. Brush it off.

Will let you know if it works.

Very good....we just recently went away for a weekend and I must have left a couple of wet face washers on the kids clothes...MOULDY AS by the time we got back...I didnt realise how quick it grew... I will be watching this thread to see if it works!
Believe it or not but I have had success with removing mould with Milton. You know the sterilising tablets you get at the supermarket. Some of my daughters stuffed toys were left outside and developed mould overnight (wet season sucks). I just put 2 tablets in a bucket of cold water with the toys for two days. (after a day I gave some stubborn parts a swish with a tooth brush just to loosen them from between the weaves of the fabric) and then threw it into the wash. UNREAL! I thought someone was pulling my leg when they told me but it worked really well. Bart Simpsons shorts faded a little bit but none of the other colors did, so I would still be careful with fabrics that you don't trust their colorfastness with. But in my opinion if it wasn't going to come off it was going in the bin so I had nothing to lose!
