CLR good for removing rust? Rss

Trying to clean up a birdcage. It's spent alot of its time near salt water & has rust all over it.

Anyone used CLR? Is it any good?
sorry i have no idea what that even is so no idea if it will work

but i just wanted to ask if you decided to get a bird?
Haha damn! I guess I'll have to find out for myself if it works.

We have decided to get a bird. We talked DD1 into it so we have her approval.

So once we get my old cage cleaned up we can check out what birds are around smile
i guess you will need a good old wire brush to remove the rust . Hopefully it hasnt eatten out the whole cage. then i gues you can give it a wash to remove salt. if you have rust spots you can't remove spray on rust kill product so it stops it rusting more

if you have rust spots you can't remove spray on rust kill product so it stops it rusting more

This is what i would be doing. I would just go to the hardware store and they have it in a spray can. I would just give it a quick going over with a wire brush and then spray it with kill rust and then get another spray can of paint and spray it so it looks pretty again smile
Thanks for that girls smile That sounds easy enough.

Cant wait to get it done & get a little birdy or 2!!
that is so cool what do yu want to get? if you want to be able to ply with it get a hand reared bird (if you didn't aleady know that)
I had a few cockatiels before I had kids so I know the benifits of getting a hand-reared one smile

Thinking we might get a conure this time. I wanted one sooo bad when I was buying my cockatiels, but the one I had my eye on was about $600 & required a license lol.
