Easy finger foods for 11 month old! Rss

Help!

My 11 month old loves eating for himself, but I'm struggling to come up with things for him to eat with his hands apart from cheese, pasta, cherry tomato's, chicken. The obvious things!

Also, I'm not good with mess and whenever I've cooked him something, he never seems to take to it and drops it over the edge of his highchair. He eats GREAT at childcare, but not at home!

HI. My DD2 (10 months)loves zuchini quiche cut up or omlette (depends if you're giving egg or not..), vegetable fritters/pikelets, cruskits with avocado, fruit pieces, steamed sweet potato/pumpin cut into cubes, corn kernels, dried fruit, home made mini muffins (savoury with veg or banana ones), little pizzas made on muffin bases. There's prob more, but my brain is a bit blank at the moment. Hope this helps you out - my DD will eat anything put in front of her and eats a LOT, so we are always struggling to think of different things to give her! Have a good day.

I'm not much help with the finger food thing as both of mine prefered to be fed. But maybe partially cooked vegies (just so they're soft enough to not be a choking hazard), or peas, mini meatballs.

But with the mess, may I suggest you invest in a 'messy mat'. A plastiv or vinyl mat that goes under the highchair that catches the mess instead of the floor. And when he's finished you shake it outside, then give it a wipe over - so much easier than cleaning the entire floor after every meal smile

I've seen playgro brand ones in both Big W and Target
