My bub is due in Sept and just wondered if anyone could recommend a good GP around the Murrumba Downs area. Want someone I can trust if bub gets sick.

I'm very impressed with mine - Dr Archie McCarther at the Kallangur Family Medical Practice (cnr School Rd and Anzac Ave). The surgery is open 7 days a week and Dr Archie works Monday, Wed, Thurs, Sun. It is also a bulk billing surgery which I find really beneficial when the kids get sick because I don't need to worry about having the money to pay for the visit.
We've had a lot of medical issues with DS since he was born and Dr Archie has always been willing to listen to my instinct as his mum. He is also really good at explaining why he is doing what he's doing/making a certain recommendation which I find really reassuring and takes away the feeling I get from some drs of being dismissed when I go up with a concern. If he doesn't know something/feels it needs to be addressed by a specialist he will refer you on and is often willing to call up the specialist to insist that you get an appointment earlier than they are willing to give you (ds needed to see a skin specialist and I was told there was a minimum 2 month waiting list, went back to dr archie to find out what to do in the mean time, he called the specialist while I was in the room and I had an appointment with the specialist for the next day at 8am grin ).
I know that his style may not be something everyone is comfortable with but, for me and my family, he has been the best dr we've found.

We go to Lakelands medical centre which is in North Lakes. They used to be in Kallangur and are really good. We see Dr Catherine McGarvey but she has closed books. There are a lot of doctors in the practice and it is very modern. They also have a nurses area and have visits from different specialists. In the complex there is also an imaging place, blood place, optomotrists, hearing screening, dentists, podiatrist and chemist. Good luck. Oh and they also bulk bill children (everyone has to) adults can incur a fee but i never have to pay it. They pretty much bulk bill most of the time.
