laryngomalacia... Anyone's baby had this? Rss

At birth my DS2 was diagnosed with a floppy larynx, or stridor by his paed, and now he is almost 3 weeks it looks like we are heading to the Mater Children's hospital in Brisbane for a appt with a pediatric ENT.
His stridor is so bad, and it has gotten worse to the point where my DH and I can't hear ourselves speak when he is feeding, or trying to watch Tv is impossible. He even has it when he sleeps, and just having cuddles.
Has anyone else experienced this with their baby, and what was the outcome?
He had a barium xray yesterday, which was terrible to watch, but the doctor said his airway actually collapses when he feeds and breathes. We saw it up on the screen after he had done the scan, pretty horrifying to see that.
Anyway, our paed is a bit concerned, and has said he might need a general anesthetic and then a camera down his throat to see if there is any "webbing" or something or any obstructions that might need removing.
Can anyone give me any advice on what to expect or what they might have experienced???
My niece, now 11, had this condition - but much milder than your DS.

Her little 'squeak' was kinda cute - you knew she was still breathing without going near her. It was weird when she finally grew out of it.

The had a larynxscopy (?) to check it but decided it was only mild and she would grow out of it. She was only little when it corrected.

Good luck with your bub, I hope all goes well x
