3rd birth after pains...

I'm sooo scared about the afterpains rather than the birth as I remember being in sooo much pain after my second daughter was born. I was taking panadeine forte & using heat packs but was still in so much pain. Is it worse after your third??? What helped?? Thnx

mine were worse after my third i had nurforen for the pain

and have gone for number 4 so they are forgetable

Mine were so bad with no. 3 I couldn't get out of bed after giving birth til the pain relief kicked in. I seriously felt like i was still in labour. I continued to have nurofen for a good 4 days after. I was also afraid of the after pains but they subsided quite quickly.

I had a really tough time after my second with after birth pains for me it was worse than labour as there was no reward to look forward to, but the after the third bub I was great, I told my midwife my experince and like you I was taking digesic to get by so she gave me a voltarin suppository shortly after I delivered (who has any dignity after birthing anyway) and it made a huge difference I then only took ibprofen and panadol in combination for a couple of days, it made a huge difference, back to mild period paid.

I think the pains after my 2nd were worse than after number 3 and 4. I did have panadol after 3 and 4, but they werent too bad.

Waaaaay worse with #2. Had one that lasted longer than the labour! Was so scared after #3, but didn't have any.

After no 3 i still felt like i was in labour! So painful!!! But pain relief helped but they lasted 5 days OUCH but they do disappear

I was very shocked after my first caesarean when I started getting extremely painful afterpains, No-one told me about that. So I was prepared when I had the twins by caesarean that the afterpains might be there and yep they were there. When I had ds in Januaury this year I found the afterpains weren't too bad but maybe I've got tougher laugh
But the lady in my room was also having her 3rd bub and she had absolutely no afterpains after and said she'd never had them before. Just goes to show how every women is different.

DS2 was terrible!! They started straight after I delivered the placenta and lasted 5 bloody days!! I would rather go through labour again than those after birth pains!! and I wish someone told me about them lol

I found they would hurt everytime I would BF DS.

they got worse for me by my fourth bub i was in tears it was that bad! Its one thing im dreading with this baby.

I had horrible after pains with my second child. When I was pregnant with my thrid I went to a homeopath who gave me a few things including Arnica for the after pains. I had no after pains with my third or fourth babys using the arnica from the homeopath. I plan on using it again when my 5th baby is born.

I had them with DD1 but nothing REALLY bad, didn't have any at all with DD2 and will find out in a few months if i will get them with DD3.... Everyone has scared me now.. sad
