Second Period Late After Giving Birth

Hello,

I would like to know if anybody has experienced this before; I gave birth through a cesarean, 6 weeks after stopped bleeding; i didn't breastfeed at all. I got my first period few weeks after, and now I am waiting for my second period, but it's about 5 days late which is why I am worried.
There is no chance of pregnancy. What could be wrong?

I doubt anything is wrong luv! Before I had my baby I could set my watch to my period. 30 day cycles every month. Then once I had bubba and stopped bf'd I waited and sure enough 30 days later I got my first period. I though great I'm back to my reliable cycles! It was short lived. My second period came 40 days later, and every other period after that has arrived anywhere between 28 days - 35 days. I have had seven cycles since I stopped bf'd and they are only just starting to even out a bit. So I wouldn't worry too much just yet, give your body and chance to rebalance all it's hormones etc. smile

I had a C sect in August.. Bled for 6weeks, had 1 cycle & havent had anything since!!! Did HPTs but they were negative.. Although I am BF a couple of times a day I asked my GP & he said this is quite normal.. Apparently it can take upto a year for it to return!! As PP said just give your body a chance to settle down, Im sure it will be fine smile

I wished that happened to me. I had a c-section, only bf for 3 days due to feeding problems. Lochia stopped about 4 weeks after I gave birth and I got AF when DD2 was 5 weeks and 4 days old.
It was so bad and lasted for 2 weeks. The next AF turned up about 35 days later. Then I went back on the pill because of endometriosis.
If you're concerned why don't you go to your gp or ob?
