swelling 4-5 days after giving birth
Hi all just wondering if anyone else experienced severe swelling in the feet, ankles and calf area after birth? I woke yesterday morning with slight swelling in the ankles its slot like the swelling I had with my first pregnancy turning out to be pre eclampsia. It's now getting to the point I'm finding it difficult to walk
I had that after both my births. Was abit scary when I first saw it lol. I had none of it during pregnancy, but a couple of days after birth my legs & feet were sooooo swollen. I had a doctor & midwife check me out both times and there were no problems. Doctor seemed very thorough though which told me it CAN possibly be a bad sign maybe?
Hi
I had the same thing after my secound went to my gp and was told its not good and to walk and not stand for to long never asked my gp why it was bad cos a week later was gone and I'd if hadn't was ment to go back and she also did a Thourough examination I'm curious know to now why it's not a good thing
My legs looked like tree trunks really not a nice look

I had a c-sect and got this a few days later, can be common. Can be sign of blood clots or excess flid etc, i recommend getting checked out, I was still in hospital so midwifes/nurses kept an eye on it. I was ok, it had gone down by time I left about 4 days later.
I had cankles for about a week post birth. Midwife told me to elevate my feet when lying down.
Wont hurt to get it checked out though I think if you are having trouble walking then that is a problem.
