Anyone wrap their belly after giving birth?
As the title says, has anyone done that? And does it actually work?
Hello
Nope I didn't wrap mine, but I know of people who did. TBH I don't think it would work. Getting your tummy back into shape starts in the kitchen and with exercise smile

No. You can't use them when breastfeeding.
Hi
I haven't used a wrap yet but am due today and have got one to use when this baby finally decides it wants to come out.
I dont actually get why people say you cant use them when breastfeeding I dont really see how it can do anything to your milk supply. I used tight control briefs after my second son and they worked great (am going to use both in conjunction this time), after a couple of weeks everything had basically gone back to normal (not the fat, that does start in the kitchen and whatever the OP said!) I also breastfeed him for 12months so having my belly restricted certainly didn't hinder me feeding at all - it did however make me feel happier about my post baby body!
Good luck smile

Thanks for your replies so far.
From what ive read, you can use certain wraps/bands etc and still breastfeed successfully and yes we all know about eating healthy and exercise, using these are not to replace that but to help aid.
Again just from what ive read the wraps are supposed to help reduce swelling of the uterus, decrease bloating caused by water retention and air and help hold everything in especially when your stomach muscles are feeling weak from giving birth.
Like ive said this is just what ive read, so was just wondering if it actually worked for anyone here.

I didnt either time. My belly is flat again 2 weeks after ds birth. With dd it was flat 1 week after the birth.
with breastfeeding the uterus contracts every time you feed to shrink it back to size... that went on for about a week for me. (ouchy!)
I don't see the point in wrapping you belly apart from it appearing flatter under your clothes. I had a lot of fluid on board in the last week of pregnancy... the body works it out by itself. I lost 9kg in the first week after birth and I didn't do anything at all to make that happen. That was just my body getting rid of excess fluid in the way that it does naturally.

I bought myself a cinch wrap, I started wearing it 1 week after DD2 was born and it has definately helped, i found it so much easier to do things as it supported my back as well.
I feel alot better in myself after DD2 than after DD1, money well spent IMO

Hi
I actually didn't get a proper one in the end because I had read some bad reviews and they seemed really bulky. I got a cheap one (like $30 or something on sale from Ezibuy) and it looks good coz its not bulky and has a hook & eye fasting all the way down it with a couple of different settings (thats not the right word but you can have it tighter or looser).
I will definately be interested to hear other peoples stories using them too.

I did read the reviews of the different wraps and about how some wraps can be bulky but i actually don't mind too much as i don't wear tight clothing showing off my tummy after giving birth anyway -though sometimes it cant be helped in those first weeks as my tummy was huge/swollen etc for ages especially after baby no.4-
Anyway, i hope the cheaper wrap still works as ive heard they can do just as good of a job as the more expensive ones.

Thanks for replying.
See i never had that, where my stomach went flat within 1-2 weeks after having a baby its always taken a bit longer for everything to go back down and into place and its taking even longer again with the more kids i have had. So if i just left it up to my body to naturally go back down i would be waiting awhile -like weeks/months even. So thats where i thought the wrap could help - though im not sure, just from what ive read.
Apart from my 1st who wouldn't breastfeed, i have breastfeed all my other children and plan to with this one so that will help with contracting my uterus but my body is sloooow lol.
