was your first period heavy after birth? Rss

Hi Ladies,

So i had my 6weeks check up the other day and yes had a pap smear (i had forgotten and when the dr said i had to have one i was yay surprise!- not) so anyway the nurse did the pap smear and I got my period - well she was in their and said i was bleeding. the next day my period returned. so now day 3 or period and yesterday and today it has been really heavy like going through 1 tampon (super) in an hour. last night i was leaking everywhere - brought back teen memories.
So is it normal for your first period to be really heavy???
im not brestfeeding. I bled for 4 weeks post partum and was happy when it finished!!!!
I went and saw the dr and he said there wasnt anything beside putting me on the pill. waste of time! lol

Yes! With all 3 of my kids the first 2 or 3 periods were insanely heavy!!!! I wasn't breast feeding.
hi there! yeah i wasnt breastfeeding and althought babes was about 6 weeks old and id stop bleeding 3 weeks after birth mine was heavy as i got it on holiday up north takin my dd to meet her grandparents and the trip home was terrible stopping every 30 mins to change.
thanx ladies definately making me feel better. i was kind of annoyed at the dr today. but the again males really dont understand how uncomfortable periods really are especially when there so heavy you have to change every hour! and leak everywhere!!!! they event the pap smear but nothing beside the pill to help control bleeding but also causes bloatedness and in my case played havoc with my body -headaches and weight gain!!!!
