When did your period return after delivery ? Rss

My postnatum bleeding was close to nothing at close to 4 weeks then I noticed I have bright red bleeding when I went to the loo. Could this be my period ?

Is it normal to have your period returned so quickly even if you're breastfeeding exclusively ?
How old is your bub?
4 weeks
I had nothing until this one was 9 months old. Then I haven't had another since. He is almost 14 months old now. I have done a pregnancy test as I was concerned I had one then nothing for last 5 months but it was negative. I'm enjoying not having it tho. smile

At four weeks it is most likey just more port partum bleeding- It can stop and start. So not really that likely to be your period especially as you are exclusively BFing.
Same thing happened to me and that was what my mid wife said anyway.
7 months and still don't have mine.

I had fairly light bleeding for 6 weeks after birth then a really light bleed at 8 weeks, same at 12 weeks (last week) so I'm presuming my period is back even though I am exclusively breastfeeding sad
I bled on and off for around 6 weeks, then had my first period at 12 months (actually on my DDs due date!) but it was never regular (18-48 day cycles) then fell pregnant again.
I breastfeed.

Thanks ladies. It's back to light spotting now, so relieved ! I sometimes spot a little more after breastfeeding but Midwife did say it was normal.
I only bled for about 2 weeks with DD2, But I did have break through bleeding on and off for a few weeks. Periods returned when DD2 was 3 months old.
I bled for about 4 weeks post c/s most of that was really light though.

I think that it differs when your period comes back. I have friends breastfeeding who got theirs back after 8 weeks and others who took a year or so

My little man is nearly 9 months and I haven't got my period back at all but have also just found out I am pregnant again so that probably has something to do with it!!
