Washing Newborns Clothing Rss

Hi everyone

Im due in 8 weeks time and its probably a little early but I want to wash the baby clothes etc. What did you use? Ive read about lux soap flakes (although I can't find them in the supermarket!) But also heard they can gunge up the washing machine. Is just a low allergy powder ok?

Thanks for taking the time to read this laugh
I use Amolin, but there are a couple of washing detergents for sensitive skin out there, I chose Amolin because it was a liquid, and I figured that powders could be more likely to leave residue on the clothing. I dont know if I am right or not, but thats just what I do gasp)
I have a front loader machine and I use Omo with Napisan, and then cuddly softener. Have done this with both my children and there clothes are smelling and feeling great.
Hi, prior to maternity leave, I was in sales with my customers being some of the multinationals who make washing powders etc. I questioned the key laundry person on whether the laundry powders are ok or whether a special product such as Amolin should be used. I was told that the sensitive powders are fine for baby and that shortly a new baby laundry powder may be launched (from this particular company).
I used Sesitive washing powder and also used sensitive nappy san. My boy never has rashes or anything.
I used nappy San for all of my four children & didn't have any problems
I just used cold power. We have never had any issues with allergies or irritations.

When I was pregnant someone told me not to wash all the baby clothes before the birth just the essential. That way if your bub is bigger or doesn't wear some of the clothes you can return them. Even if they were gifts alot of the bigger chain stores will exchange without reciepts. I thought this was fantastic and even though we used alot of the stuff we had, there were a few things I bought that we also got as gifts after the birth so I just got next sizes up.
We use purity sensitive washing liquid. I wanted to use the lux flakes but the box actually specifies that they are not designed for use in front loaders, can't remeber whether it said anything about top loaders though.

I bought Lux flakes and only used it one time. I didn't like it at all! So I bought Amolin and used that instead thinking it was the greatest of importance to use a laundry detergent for sensitive skin. Once bubs arrived and the bottle ran out I began washing his clothes with ours and use cold power or omo or any regular brand and it doesn't seem to make any difference.
hi
ive always washed bubs clothes with ours & 3 kids later, ive never had a problem.
i use hurricane liquid (lemon scented) & soak using napisan (the pink 1)

good luck with a safe arrival of your little precious
I use Lux flakes for my 4 week old bubby (and previous other 3 kids) and I use it in my front loader washing machine. Only thing is you have to completely dissolve the flakes in boiling hot water first before using. I have found that the clothes are a lot softer too.

I use this one too, as well as the purity softner. I didnt come across it until DS was a few months old (he gets eczema from just about any soap)so its been really good. I will keep using it to wash all my newborn clothes this time around too!
