Will it ever stop??
Sorry, this is probably way too much information... But it's been more than 4 weeks and I'm still bleeding. It had started to slow down and gone a darker, brownish colour about a week ago, but the last few days I'm back to bright red and period heaviness. Ugh. Will it ever stop???

I know what you mean- I thought it would never end lol mine stopped after about 6-7 weeks so hopefully not too much longer for you smile

5 weeks for me!
Felt like forever, sometimes it just takes a while sad

I flooded maternity pads every 2 hours for a month and then continued with heavy, red bleeding for another 4 weeks. At 9 1/2 weeks I had a D & C for retained placenta and continued to bleed for another 2 weeks. All up - 11.5 weeks of bleeding!!!
The on/off again bleeding is ok but if you get to 6 weeks + and are still concerned bring it up with your doctor. I had to go to 2 different docs to get someone to pay attention to my concern and finally someone listened, an ultrasound revealed I had 2cm x 1.5cm piece of placenta as well as membranes left over.
What you have sounds normal at the moment but if it starts worrying you get it checked

Thanks for the responses, it's good to know I'm within 'normal'. Going for my six week check up next week, so I guess I'll ask the doctor then, if it's still going on.
I still feel quite sore down there too... When did you guys stop feeling like all your muscles were strained?
Skubala - oh, that makes me so angry!! Why don't medical people actually -listen-? It's so high-handed to just assume that we don't know our own bodies well enough to know when something's wrong. What an awful thing to have to go through while caring for a newborn.

9 weeks for me with my first and I decided to go on the mini pill and that finally stopped it.
8 weeks with my second, and again I went on the pill to stop the bleeding.
