Hi There ladies, im a first time mum (20 weeks preg) just wanting to know how many new born nappies i will need.

You will go thru alot of nappies but all newborn nappies range in size between brands. Huggies newborns are the smallest in comparison to other brands, so some newborns grow out of these within the first week, if you have a large baby you will find the infant nappies will fit better.

So in the beginning work on using an average of 10 nappies, you will be feeding every 2hrs or so thats a new nappy each feed.

I stocked up on the larger sizes when they were on special as you know baby will grow into them and buy them from a store thats willing to change them if they are wrong for your baby.

hi, i probably wouldn't stockpile on new borns, my daughter grew so quick that i actually have almost a box of newborns left. perhaps you could put the money aside that you would be using to buy them and use this stash as needed?

We went through 4 boxes of newborn sized huggies nappies I think. But DS was quite small. I bought a box when ever they were on special throughout my pregnancy, I ended up with 8 boxes. I knew my supermarket was happy to exchange the nappies for a different size later on, even without a receipt, so I wasn't concerned about over stocking. So I suggest asking your supermarket about their exchange policy smile

i used 1 box and 1 packet wit DS i wouldn't go overboard i would get one box and get more if needed smile

I used two boxes of huggies newborn, but my DD was little so as PP have said maybe put money aside for them as you dont really know before they're born. smile

My bub was 3kg when she was born. She's now 3 weeks old and we're half way through our third box of newborns. It now fits her comfortably but will be tight by next week so we think we've estimated the right amount of nappies
