May have found our baby boy's name.. Rss

What do people think of

Wynter Blue Smith

Its the only name I've come across that i can actually say im falling in love with!! Its different and that's what i want but is it too different? I worry about a boy's name not being masculine enough? But uncommon names are becoming more common so maybe in a few years time more children will have different names like this blink
I am not a fan sorry..

I couldn't call a boy winter.

I know a girl called Winter so for me it sounds like a girls name. And beyonce and john travolta have kids with the name blue. I'm not a fan of following celeb trends either.
I'm all for unusual names... But sorry, not Winter for a boy. I'm a teacher and I can assure you he will get teased at school! School is hard enough don't make it worse!
Blue is cool though. I like that. Maybe have a look at some Hebrew and Irish names, there are some great names you don't hear so much in our culture. I was keen on Cillian (pronounced Kill-i-an) for a boy, but got a girl! Remember the kids are the ones who have to live with it, we just have to like it:-) sorry please don't take me as being too harsh. If you love it then it's up to you in the end! Good luck.

I am not a fan sorry..

Thats ok smile thanks for your opinion.
I see you have a bubba called Beau, is that a boy? Thats on my name list too..
Beau Miller Smith.. Love it!
hi - I actually do know a little baby boy called Winter.
His parents call him Win as a nickname.

To me though, I would assume it was a girl's name.

Mr J (April 2005) Miss Z (Feb 2007) and Miss O (Oct 2010)

Winter is unisex and Wynter is male. I love it but its true, he has to live with lol.
Thanks for your help! smile

I love the name, but just not for a boy. It just sounds a bit too feminine. I like your suggestion of Beau Miller smile

First we had Each Other, Then we had You, Now we have Everything

Ahh how lovely! I've never heard any child called Beau, when i saw it i loved it instantly bu you know what its like.. so hard to make decisions! Its defiantly up in my top 3 grin

Thanks
Beau Miller Smith is really really lovely. Strong, not overly common. When I skimmed over your post I actually thought Winter Blue was for a girl, so I do think it may be a bit feminine.
Just a thought, a week or so ago, I came across this baby naming philosophy on a blog. Loved it at the first line:
Naming baby is not about me! It’s not about showing how creative or intelligent I am, or about how many literary references or cutesy twists in spelling I can inflict upon a human being. It’s not about my personal philosophy of life or what I think is cool, or what celebrities I pay most attention to. I’m not engaging in an act of self-expression as I might be if I were picking a stage name, a pet-name or a character in a novel. I am naming, not just a baby, but a human being. What I choose will be an integral part of that child’s identity. And while no one except God himself knows who this little being inside of me going to become, the name I choose must respect, both horizontally and vertically who that child is. Horizontally the name connects the child to his or her community and culture. Vertically, the name should connect the child to his faith and or family traditions, to give the child the sense a sense of being rooted.
I think if you were having a girl then Winter Blue Smith would be perfect.

I love Beau Miller Smith best as a boys name smile

Good luck with whatever name you choose! grin
beau?

Is that pronounced Bow or Be-u?

beau?

Is that pronounced Bow or Be-u?

I've only ever known it to be pronounced as bow smile
We were thinking about Beau for a boy too.

Beau is french for Handsome. The feminine version is Belle. My husbands family are french, but I used to have a dog called Beau so I have to get past that first.
.
Beau pronounced Bow is a lovley sounding name. But doesn't strike me as masculine.
Masculine names in my opinion are

Vince/Vincent
Trent
Angus/Marcus
Jed
Max
Mason

DS born 2010

I think Beau is a fantastic name...

Not keen on Winter though...I wouldn't even go there for a girl, not my style at all.
Thanks everyone smile
Im not a fan of the uncommon names but wynter does sound more like a girls name. Love Beau Miller, thats very cute for a boy smile
Although i am personally a fan of older names, i love love love your choice. What a gorgeous name for a boy.
Good luck. smile
I really like Beau. Winter is pretty so therefore to me its a girls name and using a Y ultra feminises it IMO
