I really love this name but....

I stupidly named my dog it a few years ago!! I love love love the name and some ppl have said its strange others have shrugged and said not to worry about it.. What do you think??

I love the name Ruby and Mia for girls but my sister named her dog those names angry
I don't care i would still use either one if i still like them (if we have a girl)

I personally am not a massive fan of the name and especially if you have called your dog it, it wold prob sound weird if you said "my daughter lily and my dog lily" but each to there own smile

I think it would be a little confusing. I wouldn't have said weird, just confusing.

"Lilly, come and eat your dinner" - they'd both come.

I think if you love it so much maybe use it for a middle name. It isn't a name you can really make a nickname out of, otherwise I would have said it would be okay if you used it but called the child by a nickname to avoid confusion.

BTW I think it's weird how you all know dogs named Mia! Before OP posted the name, I was trying to think of names that might work for both dogs and children. I could only think of Ruby and Molly, but now I can see that Lilly could work. But I definitely can't imagine naming a dog Mia (nice name for a child though)!

no dont do it lol my daughters called lily its so common now sad i go to the shops and people keep calling out lily, everyones calling there baby's lily! Next time im picking a more un common name, i allready have my name but im not telling anyone this time. smile
