Boys name Rss

Hi All,
like everyone else, we appear to be struggling with boys names. My problem is that DF (soon to be DH) is French, so insists on a french name. But... I do not like most french boys names. The problem is that they don't translate between languages (e.g. Nicholas pronounced "Nicola" in french, Thomas as "Toma" etc). Girls names are fine (eg. Charlotte, monique, etc). And most of the boys names I would even consider are guys that I have met on the job (and thus people I know, and automatically rule out)..;(

jean, and pierre and any hyphenation combination is out. As is francois.

I like Luc, but don't completely love it. I am also liking Zeke (but DF says no and not really french). My favourite name for a boy was Xavier... until I heard how it would be pronounced in french (so neither of us is really a fan of this now). Actually we have a rather long list of Nos! smile

Surname starts with P, one syllable. Any ideas (french boys names)?

I wish I was a glow worm. A glow worm's never glum ... coz how can you be grumpy when the sun shines out your bum?!

The only name that comes to mind for me is Jacques (could translate to jack??)

Good luck!

Thanks for your help ladies...!!

Names for thought.

Jacques is DF's dad.

If you can believe it, DF pronounces "Archer" as "arrr-tuuurre", so I think that's out smile

Thanks again!

Haha no i can believe it! Damn that hot french accent!! Goodluck x
I've been watching My Kitchen Rules, so first thought was Manu lol. That's a tough one, crossing cultures in names. Perhaps you could give a different middle name that is more common so when he is older his mates/you can call him by that, but he will still have his french name first?

Julien.. Jules

the only French name I can think of is Louis ?
Is Alexander French? If so that's my suggestion smile

How about Beau? That's on my list. My MIL is french and we would like something a bit authentic without being too out there.

My husband wants to use his grandfathers name which is Hector. I think it's pronounced Eck-tore (well kind of). But I'm not a fan...

My google search for ya smile
