do you use family names? Rss

hey i was wondering do you use family names to name you kids? did you find it easier or harder to use amily names?

DS has a family name as his middle name but none of our other kids will i think it would be harder trying to use family names

so was curious what you think and do?
We didn't use family names and won't be in the future - in our situation it was way too easy to put people's noses out of joint Lol

yeah i reckon there would always would be some one who would get offended that you didn't use there name
Both our girls have family names as their middle names smile
One first has my partners granddad's name as his middle and if this one is a boy will have my granddad's name as his middle. I think its a little different because they are both passed away.
My partners other granddad did get offered that we didn't use his name but as I see it he already has 5 grandchildren with his name as their middle. Plus our kids are already going to have his last name. I think he should just be happy with that.
Oh almost forgot to say if this one is a girl we wont be using family names..as we don't really like any of them smile
If this bub really is a boy, he will have a namily name as his middle name. DH's brother and father both passed away so we will use one of their names.

Nope I haven't. My husband is named after his father who is named after his father.
My dds middle name is my nannas name - grace.

Mil suggested that if we had a boy the middle name could be after dhs grandfather... however the name was Douglas, and both dh & I passionately did not like the name. So his middle name is not a family name.

Yes DSs middle name is a family name from both DHs and my side.
DD2 unintentionally has my middle name (same as my grandmother but my mother has a different middle name) simply because it took us 37 weeks to agree on a name for her I was out of name searching energy to come up with something creative LOL

Next one, we have the first name (possibly, keeps changing) hopefully find out what it is next week so I will then start thinking of something

all 3 of our kids middle names are from their grandparents, so DD is my mum 'Donna' (i always said my first daughter would be my mum so MIL didnt mind as long as 'if' we ever have another daughter its her name 'Carin' smile which is the plan anyway.

DS1 is hubbys dad 'Joseph' or 'Jose' technically since hes portugese lol..thats a family tradition thats practically ancient, first born son is joseph or at least has joseph as a middle name
DS2 is my dad 'Graham'

my kids know their middle and last names smile its really cute when DD goes up to someone and says 'hi my names Jayde Donna ****, and im 3' whats your name? and if they say just their first name, say like emily, she gets all cranky and says 'yes but what kind of emily are you?' lol thats how she thinks of last names..like a breed hahaha
DD got SIL's middle name. We thought it was sweet and it went with her first name nicely. I think it's meaningful to use family names. Definitely be using family names for future babies.
