I am due at the end of the year with my second child and my husband and I were discussing baby names with my parents. Then names I really like they said sound too old for children now. My first childs name is Robert Malcolm and they were ok with that but if we have a girl we want to call her Erin Ivy or a boy Maxwell Curtis. Are these names really too old fashioned? honest opinions would be appreciated smile
Are some names just too old?
Hi everyone,
I am due at the end of the year with my second child and my husband and I were discussing baby names with my parents. Then names I really like they said sound too old for children now. My first childs name is Robert Malcolm and they were ok with that but if we have a girl we want to call her Erin Ivy or a boy Maxwell Curtis. Are these names really too old fashioned? honest opinions would be appreciated smile

I dont think they are old fashioned at all. I prefer classic names anyway. People will prob shorten Robert to Rob or Bobby and Maxwell to Max, and they're a bit younger anyway smile
I think Maxwell is a great name, it was on our list but I decided against it as Max was on a friends who was pregnant at the same time and I didn't want to cause trouble haha

I don't think Erin is old fashioned at all.
Maxwell is a bit old fashinoned, but like Dani said, it will probably get shortened to Max

I agree about Erin, I don't consider it old-fashioned at all!
I don't think they are old fashioned. I love esme. Now that's old... Just don't listen to them.
They're not too old at all. Old names are classic and timeless and never go out of fashion. I know a little girl named Erin and it never occurred to me that its old. Edward is at the top of our short list for this bub and I know we'll get old fashion remarks about that. smile
Nope, they're not old fashioned to me. It's your choice too, not anyone else's.
I think the names aren't old at all. Robert isn't super common anymore but Max is totally making a come back and Ivy is really popular ATM. You choose what you love and everyone will get used to it wink
I don't think those names sound too old at all - and names that probably were old a having another round of popularity. Isn't that always the case - with fashion etc?
I think they are lovely names!
