How would you pronounce 'Jaer'? Rss

How would you pronounce 'Jaer'?
Id say Jay-er - which I acutally dont mind the sound of.

The reason I ask is that my aunties middle name is Vida - which is a hybrid of her grandparents names Violet & David - ive always loved the name & the special meaning behind it so ive being trying to create my own....

Jaer is a combination of my & dh's names Jacob & Erin.
This is really the only combination that can be made from our names, our parents names & my grandparents names...the other combinations dont really spell anything.

What do you think?

Other names that we like include:

Harvey Carl
Harrison Carl
(carl is not negotiable for the middle name)
DH & I are both leaning towards Harvey. DH likes it cause it reminds him of Harvey Dent from Batman! haha!

Isabell Zoe
Abigail Zoe
(Zoe is negotiable - I just think it sounds nice with those names).
DH & I are torn between these two - he perfers Abigail, I prefer Isabell.
yeah proably jayer or i'd ask ho to pronounce it (thats what everyone does with my DS what about cobin?

I would have said "JEYE - ER" like the first syllable rhymed with eye.
Reading your post maybe you could spell it Jayer so the pronunciation is clearer??

Also my DD1 is Zoe - so love that!! I would lean towards Abigail thats just me smile

Mr J (April 2005) Miss Z (Feb 2007) and Miss O (Oct 2010)

Yeah, I wondered if it would be easier just to spell it Jayer....save confusion! Jayer or Jaer...hmm.

So, I suppose the next questions - do you see this as a boys name or a girls name?
In my head, its a boys name but I suppose it doesnt have to be.

I like Brin but I have a cousin called Bryn and out last name is quite short, so we need a first name with two syllables.

Yeah, Id go with Harvey too....and whilst I love Isabell (cause its my nanna's name), im warming more and more to Abigail. smile
I like Abigail coz I love the nn Abbey!
What about Abbey Isabelle?? wub
I like Harvey heaps better than Harrison!
I'd say Jay-er & am thinking boys name!?
I was going to suggest Corbin too!?
Otherwise from both ur names ~
Jori
Rina
Ari
Cobe
Jobe
Eboni
There's heaps of great combinations from ur names!
Good luck deciding! grin
Jacob Erin

Yeah, hadnt really thought about using all the letters in our names for a nice combination - was really only thinking the first two from each as that is what Vida is.

Hmm - DH would never consider Jaer - guess I was just looking for something with more meaning than Abigail & Harvey - which are just randomly chosen cause we think they're nice.

hippomum - I cant use Vida - I love that name but it belongs to my Aunty - its hers to pass down to her children, not mine.

We're pretty sold on Harvey and Abigail at the moment. That might change as we get closer to birth but right now, those names sound great to us!

Harvey Carl & Abigail Zoe. I like that. smile
I really like the idea smile
I had a friend who named her child "Janelle" which was a combination of James+Chantelle.

If you're going to go with Jaer as a name, you could add in a y - Jayer? That way he would have part of your name, part of your pratners' name, and something of his own too smile
I like Brin for a girl

I'm with mel-o, but you could use Brin for a boy.. Take the B from hubby's name & Rin from your name..
I think Brin Carl is cute.
As far as the girls name, i would have to be bias & say Abigail... It's my daughter name, but her's is spelt Abigale & middle name is Rose.
Goodluck. smile
