Reflexology and accupuncture Rss

Hi all ,
Almost 38 weeks and am thinking about trying reflexology or acupuncture to try and encourage labour. So I was wondering has anyone tried it? And did it work??
Hi. I tried acupuncture at 40 wks to induce my labour. The lady I saw was a very traditional Chinese acupuncturist and she said that they are taught that a pregnancy is actually 42 wks so technically speaking I wasn't overdue! Ha. Anyway, had a few sessions to try and help induce labour ( was my 4th pregnancy and was induced with the 3 before as overdue!) as would have been nice to go into labour by myself. I had a few tightenings after one of my last sessions, but nothing else. Ended up being induced again at 12 days overdue! So no, it didn't work for me!
One thing I would say is make sure you get an acupuncturist who specialises in pregnancy. And ask what points they are doing, and what they will do.
I am huge fan of accupunture and it's benefits during pregnancy.

But as 4littlegirls mentioned, my accupunturist also says that technically 42 weeks is full term and he won't attempt to induce until you are past that date. Most western doctors would have induced by then anyway.

My accupunturist (who also happens to be a midwive - handy!), does start to do treatments to get you ready for labour at around 40 weeks, but won't actually induce.
I tried natural ways to bring on labour but I was going past 40 weeks. Bub still has 2 weeks to grow and mature smile
