Might be a silly question but I dont know

I am 32 weeks tomorrow. so this may be obvious to some but I dont know how to tell and sorry if TMI.

How do you know if you leak a little fluid if it is from your waters or urine? They are in such close proximity, I have never had my waters break and I have heard it can smell but I have no idea what it feels like.

I was just standing in kitchen not bending not sneezing and felt a little warm liquid come out only talking a tiny bit so went to bathroom and a little bit had come out, if its urine then how embarassing not that it would be the first time ive done it a couple of times when sneezing, not in public thank goodness.

Any help appreciated, I feel stupid calling the midwife to be told i proberly peed myself lol smile especially on a saturday night.

I'm not sure, my waters didn't break but I did get told it smells sweet or like a mans semen huh

My midwife said that if it was amniotic fluid it would have a metallic smell, like blood. I had leakage the other day and ended up in hospital. THankfully it wasnt my waters breaking. The midwife said that sometimes discharge becomes extremely runny and because of the hormones your body produces more of it and you can sometimes leak. The only other thing to do is wear a pad for a day and see if anything comes out.

my waters leaked out slowly when i went into labour with my son. there was no noticeable smell that i was aware of & i don't think you should be worried about calling your midwife - maybe just monitor it for a couple hours - if it happens again you should probably just give her a call & see what she thinks, even if its just for peace of mind.

Hey I had the same thing happen, while i was standing in the kitchen think I was about 36 weeks, anyways I did end up calling the midwife and was told to lie down for half hour to forty mins, then get back up if it happens again then it may be the waters leaking, well I did that and when I got back up nothing happened so yeah it was either pee or discharge lol
If you are worried though call the midwife, thats what they are there for smile

Have been sitting down resting for about an hour since putting DD to bed. Havent had it happen again like that but had the feeling like something come out so went to loo but nothing that time. Should have smelt it but just got changed and did the washing. Ill check that if it happens again.

Have had some tight feelings in tummy but didnt get braxton hicks with DD, I dont know if that is what ive been getting last week or if its just baby pushing really hard, my tummy feels like my skin is stretching and being pulled apart but if you touch my tummy it doesnt feel really hard then it goes away, have had this happen a few times tonight, one had a little pain with it. Its not my whole tummy though it can be on just one side sometimes thats why i was wondering if it was just soemthing baby was doing. Hes been quiet today but have had some movement and a couple of movements tonight so atleast i think he is cosy in there, hiding from this horrible storm we have been having.

Im hoping that as it hasnt happned again yet that it isnt my waters or if it was its just a bit of hide water. Ill see how go and call midwife if it happens again, I just hate bothering her I know shes busy and has a life, I feel like a 1st time mum again having not gone into labour with DD

No not silly. I had a bit of a 'is it my waters ' moment a couple of weeks ago. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling wet. So I got up went to the toilet and put a pad on to see if it was my waters. I checked the bed and it wasn't wet. So must have been sweat or I wet myself a bit lol.

When I was pregnant I had similar situation arise, i was just under 37 weeks, I called the hospital and explained what happened they told me to put a pad down and see if anything else came out and it did so I ended up going into the hospital and they checked everything out, checked my cervix took a swab did an ultra sound anyway it all came back negative they did tell me that it's just my body warming up and I would probably have my baby in a week or so, she ended up coming a week later. Anyway best get it checked out for your own peace of mind, especially if you are worried smile

My waters trickled out at 35 weeks and I didn't notice a smell at all. Urine stinks ALOT more. If it's still coming out, put a pad on and take it to the midwife who can check it for you.
