I have placenta previa also. On my 18 week scan, i was told I had a 'low lying' placenta but not to worry because in most pregnancies it moves upwards as everything stretches. At 21 weeks I woke up in the middle of the night bleeding. To me it seemed like a rather large bleed (dripping every where when i stood up). My hubby got me in the car and we rushed to the hospital. We were then told I had the highest grade placenta previa (placenta was fully covering the cervix). I had another bleed later that day also. My obstetrician told me, if I continued to have big bleeds, he would have to deliver the baby no matter if it was viable or not. I was on total bed rest for about 4 weeks after the bleeds and since then have not been able to go back to work, do any cleaning/washing (what a shame!) or anything strenuous at all. My poor hubby! At 29 weeks, I had another bleed (again in the middle of the night) and that was after a day or resting around home.
Im now 32 weeks + 3 days and feeling really good. There is a good chance I'll have to have a caesarian but Im not too bothered, as I feel very lucky to have got so far in the pregnancy. I had a scan at 29 weeks which showed the placenta had moved slightly, but the edge was still over the cervix. I asked to have steroid injections after having the bleed at 29 weeks to help develop bubs lungs should I have a big bleeding leading to an emergency c-sar. Sorry Im not far enough along to tell ya how the delivery went, but thought I'd share my story with you anyway. Best of luck with everything and rest up.
Hi all just wondering if any one out there has placenta previa/ had and their stories.
I have grade 4 placenta previa currently 30 weeks had a small bleed at 26 weeks.
Dr has put me on rest at home if we have any more bleeding have been told it will be stay in hospital until baby born or if a bigger bleed emergency delivery.
I would love to hear from people that have been through this and when your babies were delivered or arrived due to this condition? and how your recovery was?
The c section is not making me anxious as i had one with my first baby due to a small pelvis- its just the unknown knowing you could bleed anytime sad
Thanks look forward to hearing from others smile
