Children at the hospital?

Possibly a strange question, but can you bring older children to hospital to wait while you are in surgery having bub if you have no-one else to look after them while your partner is in surgery with you?

I know midwives aren't babysitters, but just wondering if they would allow it.. My kids are older, 6.5 and 4.5

I would doubt it but might be best to ask the hospital first. wouldn't want your kids getting into trouble.

When I delivered my dd2 recently they were vey strict about children 'running around', as theidwives put it. They need to be fully supervised by someone you have bought with you at all times. Even then I don't think they encourage it because you never know how long you'll be.

Some of the bigger hospitals have day care if you check.

That's what I thought may be the case.
