Hi Maria and co, I will take this opportunity to join your thread. I have just turned 37 and I am trying for number one.

I have been following your thread during my TWW. It has helped to keep me sane. So thanks.

Look forward to chatting with you all. Hope this thread doesn't disappear!!

Meg. X

Hi Kylie & Meg

BFN for me gasp(

Hello Meg and welcome to our thread. When do you test?

Sorry to hear you got a BFN Maria gasp(

I bet a lot of people will not be impressed because their threads have been deleted!

Hi Meg and welcome. Good luck with TTC.

I can't believe they have deleted our thread, I didn't even get to read the posts yesterday. Well, I guess we just start again.

How many days have you got left Kathy till you go to the doc's?

Sorry to hear you got a BFN Maria. Hopefully next month will bring some good news.

How are you going Kylie and where abouts are you up to in your cycle?

Any morning sickness yet Julie???

Hi Girls,

Glad to see the thread still going strong.

Meg, welcome along. I'm Julie 37 and have just got BFP after 2 years trying. I can't leave this thread as I've made some wonderful friends so I decided to stay smile Good luck TTC.

Maria, I'm really sorry to hear you got a BFN. Do you think it was an early test? Not fair hey.

As for me girls I think I'm working out now what foods are not agreeing with me. I am having issues with pasta and rice at the moment. Its not a pleasant experience after eating this so I've ruled them out for the time being. Will try them perhaps in the 2nd trimester and see how I go.

I met my girlfriends yesterday for lunch. One of them came out and asked if I was pregnant. She said she's never once seen me refuse a glass of wine.....dead give away huh.

Looks like its going to be 'one of those days' in this house today. Ethan has woke up on the wrong side of the bed and is having a hissy that Mickey Mouse is not on and he wants it on NOW ! The joys of being a toddler hey.

Well girls will drop by later. Off to sort out some brekky and sort out this child who has possessed my Ethan. Mmmmmm

Will chat later,

Julie xoxo

11 more sleeps Sue, not that I am counting !!!!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for your welcome. Congratulations, Julie. I am glad you are hanging around. It will be great to hear from your experience. It's great to see someone who is 37 and has just conceived.

Well I had a BFN this morning, and my temp dropped to 36.62:(

I woke in the night with bad cramps so it looks bad for me. I am setting my sights on December. According to Kerri-Anne Kennerly (I don't know how to spell her name) more babies are conceived in December than any other time of year. SO I am hopeful!!!

It will be great to journey with you all as we get our BFPs.

Meg xoxox

Well I can vouch for that Meg, LOL. Is vouch a word ??
Anyway my 2 youngest boys Lane 2.2yrs & Luke 1.2yrs were both conceived in December. I am hoping we are lucky again next month but I might be pushing my luck. I get my Implanon removed on the 9th Dec. I then have to wait for my cycle to return but I am guessing we can still try and TTC beforehand. I wonder if I can ovulate before AF returns? I will have to ask my doctor about that one.

Meg, I hope it is not the start of AF, stay positive.

I will give you more hope, I have just turned 39 and am due to have my third baby in February. I have two DD's, a three and a half year old and a nineteen month old.

I didn't know that about December, I guess more people are on holidays and are a bit more relaxed????

Julie, what a bummer about the pasta and rice, I just love pasta and rice. Hopefully you will be able to eat it soon.

I am sure you are not counting Kathy, I am sure you are not even thinking about it, he he!!

I have just dropped Emilie at daycare and am off to meet a friend this morning for coffee. I am planning on a semi-relaxing day, we'll see!!

That makes sense about December. I know SO many people who are born in August.

Plus its a time of year that most families are together.

Lets hope December is a good one !

Good morning lovely ladies

Welcome meg the girls in this post are such lovely ladies I class them as my friends even though we have not met, soory to hear about your bfn hope that next month is better.

Maria sorry to hear about you bfn I hope that next month is your month also.

Julie that is a pity about the rice and pasta I just live my pasta, how are you feeling any morning sickness yet.

Kathy only 11 more sleeps I bet you are getting excited now.

Sue I am about to ovulate this weekend some time but I don't think that we will have any luck this month as I have the flu and fell really rotten. I hope that you are enjoying your pregnancy.

Hi ladies, I just wanted to say how sorry I am that your thread was deleted. I've been popping in every now and then as I love your stories - you give me hope!

I am approaching my late 30s fast (35 next year) and have been struggling to conceive #2. There is soooo much pressure out there to have your kids before you're 35 and I'm beginning to feel the heat! We'd desperately love two more and following your stories makes me think that it is still possible.

Maybe the thread was deleted because it was so big? Hmm who knows, anyway thanks Maria for starting the new one. I'm sorry to hear about your BFN, hoping that it was just too early for you?

Welcome to Meg and tinkerbell, it's nice to have some new friends!

Julie, I would not be able to LIVE without pasta! Then again, when I was pregnant with DS I went completely off hommus and I usually eat it by the bucketload, it's funny how your body can change hey.

DS is at daycare this morning so I went and bought a mag and had a coffee and a read - nice way to start my day! I'm now meant to be vacuuming - hmm can't really be bothered, but must get started.

What is everyone up to for the weekend? I'm working tonight, tomorrow night and Sunday, then we're off to Perth for a couple of days. So probably won't be on much, will talk next week. Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Jen x

Thanks tinkerbell08. Of course it is still possible, all the best to you with TTC no.2.

I just had to pop in and say OMG, I am freaking out. I just got a call from the hospital, and they want me to bring Emilie in on Tuesday for her tonsillectomy!! That is only 4 days away. I have to take her in on Monday for a check up thingy and then they are going to do the surgery early Tuesday morning. OMG, the thought of my little girl going under the knife scares the hell out of me!! Just thought I would let you all know.

Bye for now.

Sue. X

Also, just thought I would let you know that they deleted the 'babies due in Feb' thread that I post in. What is happening??

Hi Sue they didn't give you much notice everything will be fine I will be thinking of Emilie on Tuesday.

Kylie
Tinkerbell, I wouldn't worry about being late 30's and TTC...if we can do it so can you. Are you getting any help?

Jen, Enjoy your trip to Perth. Hope you have a great time.

Sue, That is great that Emilie is in next week. It will be all over and done with by Christmas and she won't have to worry about those dreaded tonsils any more. Look at the positive...she'll be just fine AND she'll get to eat lots of ice-cream.

Also Sue, did you have the amnio with your current pregnancy? Just wanted to know as a friend of mine who is pregnant and two years younger than me brought it up.

Bye for now girls...

Julie xoxo

Hi Julie. No, I didn't have an amnio. I got great results from my 12 week scan and decided that I was happy with that. If a professional had suggested I get one, then I would have. But of course it is up to the individual.

Thanks for the kind wishes for Emilie. Really I do think it is great that it is happening so soon, less time to worry and she will be fine by Christmas to eat all that yummy food.

Thinking of you little Emilie GBH's x x x

Not very good news on this end. Having a few problems at home with Jack and DH. Thinking twice about getting the rod removed now. Breaks my heart to say that but I may not have a choice.

Thinking of you all. Will try and keep in touch.

Kathy x x x

Hi Meg and co,

I am 38 and have conceived for the first time with IVF. We had been trying for about 2 years or more. I am 8 weeks today. So don't give up hope. Before IVF I drove myself nuts with all the saliva microscopes etc... Then eventually realised it was making me more stressed etc so gave them all away and stopped driving myself nuts.
The TWW was really hard and just seemed to go on forever so I sympathise hugely.
From a large harvest of eggs we ended up with only 1 embryo and to our amazement it took! I know how disappointing it is when over and over again you get your period and it just doesn't seem like it will ever happen to YOU.... but it will! Don't give up HOPE! Good luck,
Franci

Oh Kathy, that is sad. Are you OK?

Welcome Franci and congratulations on your pregnancy, you and Julie will have a lot in common. Look forward to chatting with you over the coming months.

Sue. X

Hi Kathy I am so sorry to hear that things aren't going all that well maybe it will sort itself out and you can still have the rod removed thinking of you big hugs.

Welcome Franci hope you have great pregnancy.

Hi Girls,

Welcome to the weekend !

Kathy, don't make any decisions yet. Wait till things settle down. I hope it all works out for you, I really do.

Franci, welcome and congratulations. I'm 37 and eight weeks also. I had DS at 34 (natural conception) and after trying a LONG time this time we turned to IVF. Look fwd to chatting and catching up with you.

Girls, Its all coming back to me now....I think I got up 3 times last night to pee. Oh the memories ! Wouldn't swap it for the world though.

What's everyone doing today? I'm going to get a bit of Xmas shopping done and stock up on supplies for the Xmas break.

Well girls, gotta run...Ethan has just got up.

Enjoy your weekend.

Thank you girls for your support. Sorry for the vent yesterday, I had a bit of a breakdown. Weather permitting, DH and I are taking the boys into the City on Monday. They will love catching the train. Lane loves Thomas The Tank Engine at the moment. We can grab some lunch in there and have a good chat. I am really hoping we can stick to our original plan of getting the rod removed on the 9th Dec. We have a lot of work ahead of us with Jack and his behaviour. Thank god there is only 2 weeks left of school. DH finds it hard at times coping with everything which concerns me. I tell you what, I am the rock in this family, hehe. I don't seem to stress as much as what DH does. Some days I think, no way can I bring another baby into this family but then other days everything seems fine. I know I will be able to cope but it worries me that DH won't be able to. Although he has agreed to another baby, he doesn't show any excitement IYKWIM? He did admit to me that he is apprehensive about having another baby. Maybe in time, while in the TTC process (which is always fun) and during the pregancy, he might come around and start enjoying it a little bit more. You know what it is like. The build up to something is always the worst but when you get there everything is ok. On a positive note I have started getting the boys into a routine of a night time. That was one of the things DH wanted me to do so we could start spending quality time together. He misses our time which is totally understandable. When I look at the big picture, the things that we need to change are minor compared to some of the problems couples have. Anyway I have babbled on enough, hehe. Welcome to our thread new ladies. We have a few more now which is great. My name is Kathy and I am 36 years old, 37 in February.

Hi everyone,

I wrote this big long (not too long!) post that has gotten lost somewhere! Not fair:)

Anyway, I was saying thanks for the excellent welcome. And thanks so much to Julie and Franci for the very encouraging news! I love to hear that, and so glad you are around to pass on your advice. I am so pleased for you both and I am very much looking forward to being a mum. I am currently looking after my four year old god son who is just divine, and last night for the first time ever, he kept accidently calling me 'mummy'. It was so nice.

I also said to kathy that I was really sorry, and to keep positive and I hoped everything sorted itself out. It's amazing how we can adapt to the new events in our life, and it's quite reasonable to feel tentative about these decisions and to worry about them.

I also sent good wishes to little Emilie. I wanted to reassure you by telling you about my two year old niece who had operations on her ears and her adnoids (sp) out a couple of weeks ago. She was sent home early because she was the best patient the doc ever had, and she didn't want to sleep in the "doctor's bed anymore". She also insisted on carrying her own suitcase out of the hosp. My sister thought she would have looked like a bad mummy to others, making her post-op two year old carry her own bag out of the hosp. smile

So glad to be here. I am now on cycle day 2.. af arrived yesterday. According to FF I am due for my next af Christmas day. It would be a fantastic present to get some good news instead.

All the best to you all!

meg xoxxoxo

Hi Girls,

Kathy, sounds like things have settled down a bit. Hope your feeling much better. Kids can be so trying on us sometimes hey. What are you doing differently at night? Are you setting boundaries for bed time? We have just done something similiar...so far so good. Then again its alot easier with just one. Hope it all goes well. Keep me posted.

Meg, your niece sounds like a little treasure. How cute. Hope she recovered okay.
Good luck TTC this month...be nice to have a BFP at Xmas.

Another quiet day here at our place. The weather is nice today so we were thinking of taking DS over to the bay and go searching for fish off the jetty. He'll stand for ages to spot fish....perhaps he's going to enjoy fishing with daddy when he's bigger????

Enjoy your day what ever you do. Will drop by tomorrow.

Take care,

Julie xxoo

Kathy, you will notice such a difference getting the kids in bed early, you really do need that time at night where you can talk etc, otherwise it is just kids all day and all night. You need your adult time. I have both kids in bed by 7.00pm and it is really nice to have that time to ourselves. The best of luck to you.

Meg, thanks very much for the reassuring words. It is kind of sinking in now and I am not freaking out as much as I was the other day. I just have to think about post surgery and how much better she will be.

Julie, it is a gorgeous day today. I am going out to lunch with my two SIL's for my birthday so a kid free afternoon is just what the doctor ordered.

Have a fantastic day everyone.

Sue. X

Thank you girls x x x
Love the new ticker Meg !!
Wow 7pm Sue, you are good. I thought I was doing well with 8.30pm, LOL. I don't go to bed early so I never minded Lane staying up with me. Sometimes he wouldn't go to sleep until 11pm. Isn't that bad? I have set a routine for Jack which he must stick by. First thing in the morning he must make his bed and clean his room. First couple of days were a bit iffy but now he has got the picture, YAY. When he comes home from school he has something to eat and drink then he has to do his homework. If he has been behaving then he gets 1-2 hours freetime before dinner. He is not allowed to have friends over or make any phone calls or use the computer but he can talk to next doors kids or play with his brothers in the backyard. Dinner time he sets the table. He must be showered and ready for bed by 8pm, then in bed by 8.30pm. It seems to be working so fingers crossed. We get the odd grunt and grown but you have to expect that I suppose. Lane & Luke go to bed at 8.30pm as well. First night they cried for half an hour but the other two nights they went straight down, YAY. Gradually I might start bringing the time forward to 8pm. They won't know, hehe. I am feeling more positive about Jack. Mind you it is the weekend, school tomorrow, grrrr. I had a good chat to his basketball manager and she is going to see if her son Michael (assistant coach) and Dylan (coach) can have a chat to him about the importance of behaving at school. Michael is 15 and Dylan is 19 so I am hoping they have a good impact on him. We are slowly getting there, I pray every day that he improves!
We put up the Christmas tree today .. YAY!
Luke knows how to say Santa now and everything is Santa to him. The lights, the tree, the decorations, everything is Santa, LOL. Lane is exactly the same.
Well I better get cracking. The boys are booked in at Portrait Place at 1.45pm to get their photos done.
Have a great weekend girls x x x
