Wanting to become a Surrogate Mother

Hi, I am 25 yrs old and have two amazing little boys of my own Tobias is 2yrs and Harper is 9 months. I have always wanted to help out a family whom is unable to carry their own baby etc so I am wanting to become a Surrogate Mother but where can you do this in Australia and I am willing to travel as I live in Queensland. I just want to give someone their own little baby, Im just the carrier! smile Anyone with recommendations or is looking for a surrogate please advise. thanking you

i didnt realize u could be a surrogate mum in aus ithought it wasnt aloud but it is the best thing someone could do i would so do it if i could hav my own children ( we are in the process of ttc no2 with not much success) so wat u want to do is awesome

i know how you feel, i wanted to surrogate for my friend but unfortunately in qld it is no legal. You can travel and do it in canberra (and don't quote me, but i think other states aswell) but it is not recognised here. Aswell as for the mother of the baby who will recieve the child it is not recognised that she is the mother therefore when it comes to immunisations etc she will not be able to take the child in (i think adoption comes into play somewhere in there).. but as i said don't quote me on that as i looked that up a year or so ago and it may have changed since then. I know they were trying to pass a new law on it but then it opened up the whole debate about same sex couples being able to have babies etc. Good luck and i hope that you can find the right response! you are doing a fantastic thing and so hope that i could've done it too smile

My sister would love to have a baby but she can't due to medical problems. I think she finds it very difficult knowing that I have two children and my brother is expecting his first. I think if she had the money she would take you up on the idea. I have thought about doing it for her but still want one more of my own. I really feel for her and others like her that cannot have kids she is such a lovely person and adores kids just can't have her own and doesn't have the money to pay for surrogates egg donors etc. Oh if only I could win lotto I'd make sure it happened for her.

Hi, I am just writing in responce to your enquiry and another lady who has replied. Surrogacy in Queensland is now legal as of the 1st June, 2010, under the Surrogacy Act 2010 Queensland. My husband and I are approching the stage where we are seriously considering Surrogacy for another baby. I had Breast Cancer 2 years ago and my first baby Alexander was an IVF Bub so it was more likely than not that I wouldn't be unable to concieve naturally or any other way.

I don't know of anyway that you can place an ad but on my end you are not allowed to advertise for a surrogate as per the act. But I am sure if you contacted Qld Fetility Group or IVF Specialist in queensland they would take your name or point you in the right direction.

What you are offering is one of the biggest gifts that someone could offer a family. I hope all works out for you and your intended parents. Take Care. God Bless. xxx
