I am going to be a surrogate!!

Hey Everyone,
I am so excited after a few months of getting to know some potential IP's(intended parents) We decided that we are perfect for each other, they will supply all biological matter and i will lend my womb for 9 months hahah, We have become quite close and will share a very special bond and will hopefully remain friends for a lifetime. There is a lot of medical and physiological evaluations to get through but i am so excited to start this journey.

I am really interested in surrogacy! I want to be a surrogate for my brother and sister in law. I had read that it wasnt legal in Australia???Any info on that would be good, as I am really hoping to one day give them the little baby they want so badly.

Hey (Sarah.hearts.you) First of all to even consider doing this for ur brother is incredible and No surrogacy is not illegal in Australia but commercial surrogacy is, what this means is you are not able to receive any type of payment to be a surrogate, you are compensated for all medical costs, maternity clothes, travel expenses ect ect. What state are you in because as far as i am aware it is illegal in nsw still. Also why does your brother and sister in law need a surrogate because there actually needs be a diagnosed reason to need a surrogate and not that they have just been trying for a long time and havent fallen pregnant yet, most infertile couples need egg donors or sperm donors not surrogates and for you to qualify as a surrogate u must have had at least one live birth, you have to be over the age of 25 and have had an uncomplicated pregnancy i do have a lot of information and i am happy for you to pm me if you want to know more but if this is something you would like to do and you do think they need a surrogate tell them to go to find an ivf clinic that deals with surrogacy and start the ball rolling as it is quite a long expensive process for them and even if you started now you would be looking at about 12 months before transfer, good luck

Hey darl could you message me more about surrogancy. I am only 24 atm but wanting to look into it now for later. I live in QLD. I have also done some research however its still confusing to me. I hope i too get the chance to give some lucky couple the gift of life. Cheers Jaimee

Just wondering how things are progressing with your surrogacy?
I too am going through the process of being a surrogate for dear friends of mine. We decided in Nov 2010 to start proceedings, and only just had the embryo transfer this week. Keeping all fingers, toes and legs crossed now as we have a 2 week wait to see if it takes!
It's a very long and tedious process, but the outcome will be wonderful.

I have just come across this website.
My Wife and I live in Central QLD and we have tried IVF with no success (they can't tell us why- we are in the unknown - who as you can image is frustrating).
We are interested in knowing more about surrogacy… as the laws are now changed in QLD.
We would require a surrogate mother I am thinking by the posts I have read on this website and on others – due to our situation.
If anyone can assists us in which direction to head from here – that would be grateful…
I have read a lot of posts on this website and some are quite old…
