So we are actively TTC our 3rd baby. My first 2 were just lets see what happens type thing, took 2 weeks after coming off the pill to get preg the first time then 13 months the second time!

This time around I'm interested in working out the best time to TTC and all that so I have a few questions if anyone can help!

-How will I know when I'm ovulating?
-If I use an OPK do I use it every day after my period finishes til I get a positive?
-When I know when I ovulate what days in my cycle would be the best to have sex?

Ummm I think that's it, I came off the pill last Friday, got my period yesterday (8/2) so when would my best chances of getting pregnant be?

Bahhh I have 2 kids and feel like I don't know anything about getting pregnant laugh any help would be awesome!

Ha ha... I was exactly the same when trying to get pregnant this time around. DS was a pleasent suprise to us, so this time ovulating, sex positions etc, that was all new to me!
All I did was read some books, and look on the internet about concieving. Basically it said whatever your cycle is (mines the normal 28 day) then 14 days earlier is roughly when you would ovulate. So in other words I ovulated around day 14 (day 1 being first day of your period). If you had a 30 day cycle, then day 16 would be when you ovulated..
Sperm can live up to 2 days inside you, so you don't necessarily have to have sex just on the day you ovulate. I never took ovulation tests either.
We just had sex pretty much every day or second day from day 10-17 of my cycle...
It took only one full cycle before I got pregnant. I was quite suprised!
Don't have sex more than once a day though, as the more you 'do' it, the lower the sperm count from your partner.

How exciting to be TTC again!

With OPK's you use them from CD10 (as in 10 days after the first day of AF) until you get a positive. It's best to do them twice a day (10am and 4pm).

As for when to BD, we followed the SMEP method, which is every second day from CD10 until you get a +OPK, then for 3 nights in a row, then back to every second/third night. It worked for us <span class="emoticon smile">smile</span> This method is supposed to work within 3 months, so fingers crossed for you!!
