Who to tell and when? Rss

Hi Ladies,

My DP and I don't live close to either side of our families, at least a two hour plane trip to his and three hour to mine. So when I one day finally get my BFP, I imagine us taking the plane trip up to see my family for a couple of days and tell them, then on the way back home stopover for a couple of days to tell his family. I have this 'plan' in my head that my DP is the first to know and my Mum and Dad the second ones.

Does anyone else have an idea like that in their head? What does everyone think about telling their parents in person/via the phone?
well mine was planned and i called my family and told my friends on facebook any they new i was trying then i moved back home to have my baby then my mum decided to move states b4 i had the baby that upset me alot. but ur plan sounds like a good plan no matter who ya see first they all going to find out smile

When I got my BFP I waited a week to tell my parents and told them over Skype (They live in South Africa) DH told his over a text lol
My bestfriend I told about half an hour after I took the test.
Well we found out 1.5 months into the pregnancy, and then it was very close to christmas. So we decided to keep it from everyone (even our housemate) and give them ultra sound photos as Christmas presents... best idea ever grin making my mum cry when she found out I was 4 months pregnant was totally worth keeping it hush hush. we also found it surprisingly easy not to tell anyone.... harder not to reveal bubs gender to them all but we are getting there and I am now 28 weeks, so not too much longer before we can reveal gender & name grin
I told my parents in person at 4 weeks with this pregnancy. I just couldn't wait! With DS I think I was around 6 weeks when I told them as it was a bit more of a shock!

DH just sent his mum a text after i took the test and that was everyone covered haha i was 4weeks
It's really up to you who you tell and when.

I found that telling people I was pregnant the last time and then miscarried I had heaps of support, which was a great help.
This time around we told my family at 6 weeks, and we're putting it on FB tomorrow after our 12 week scan.

I personally don't think there's a "right time" or "wrong time" to tell people. It's completely up to you smile

Good luck getting your BFP!!
