When did you start trying for bubs no. 2? Rss

Hi ladies!! My little boy is only 10weeks old, but just wondering when you started trying for your second child?

I want them close together!! My best friend 3 years was a good gap for her. I know everyone is different but wanted to get peoples views and experiences.

TIA!! smile

I have 2.5 yr gap and love it. DD was pretty much out of nappies and fairly independent. Could feed herself and play by herself etc. we planned on a 2 yr gap but after 2 m/c we ended up with an extra 6 months. We will aim for 2.5 again next time. smile

5 years between ours! It is so easy I wouldnt change a thing.... there was no jealousy, dd loves him to bits and is a great helper. I can trust her with him as she doesn't try to pick him up and is way past the age where they try to touch their eyeballs. Lol

When he spews she'll grab a spew rag for me and wipe it up, she has fed his his evening time ebm and pops his dummy in for me. She's a real mother hen.... and the best part is that she also dresses herself, feeds herself, makes her own brekky, toilet training & accidents are out the way and sleep issues are long gone. and she is at school weekdays which gives us lots of quiet time at home still.

I'm loving life like this. smile

We started trying for our second when ds was 2yrs4 months and we were very lucky to conceive almost straight away. We were aiming for a 3/3.5 year gap and will have a 3yrs3monthd gap so very happy about that smile

I become pregnant with DD2 when DD1 was 3mths old, so we have nearly a 12 mth age gap. Didn't have any probs, as they both in nappies and only ) on formula. Had a 18 mth gap between DD2 and DD3 that was a bit harder as the older 2 already had routines in place. There will be a 2 yr gap between DD3 and DD4 whch I'm. Imagining will be more difficult as they have all been sleeping thru the nite for quite some time. My oldest is in kindy 2 days a week which will make it a bit easier

We started trying for number two just before DS first birthday. She was born two days before his second birthday and I love the age gap.

We started trying a month before DD was 1! So she will be just over 1 and a half, we wanted them to be close together! But we want a bigger gap before the next one!

I'm about 12 weeks along and DD is 11 months old

I would love to start trying now smile
We don't have room for another baby in the house we're in at the moment though. And DP won't even talk about having more kids. Hopefully I can start trying in the near future, I want a close age gap smile
My brother and I are 5 years apart and we never really became friends until we were 10 and 15 years old.

Techinically we didn't start trying but our surprise baby has come along anyway. I'm not sure how far along I am yet but I think we will have about a 16 month gap, will find out for sure on Monday.

I was freaked out by them being so close in age but after talking to a few friends with kids with similar age gaps I am happy that it has turned out this way.

We started TTCing DD2 when DD1 was 15months, fell 2nd cycle and she was born 2 weeks before DD1 turned 2. Absolute nightmare age gap for me since DD1 didn't toilet train (or wish to) until after 3, was not ready for a bed when I needed her to go in one which involved many hours of patting and fighting sleep, chalk and cheese personalities, never would nap at the same time, they really aren't friends even now and fight more than they get along... I wish I had waited at least an extra year, but it seemed like a good idea at the time - everyone said they would be the best of friends when I found out I was having another girl and that the age gap was "perfect" lol

Girls were 5.5 & 3.5 when we started TTC DS1 (took 5 months this time) and they've just turned 6 & 4 a few weeks ago and it will be a much better age gap come October as DD1 is now at school and DD2 can pretty much look after herself, get herself food, take herself to the toilet, change her own dvds, play by herself if need be which has been great during bouts of morning sickness and full on fatigue and she'll be starting school next year.

There is 4.5 years between my brother and I and I remember my dad saying it was great because of all the reasons I'm finding with DD2 now.

My DD will be 1 in September and we plan to start TTC number 2 in August. Originally we wanted a little bit of a bigger age gap but other things have influenced our decision. I'm a little worried about how I will handle having 2 under 2 as I live rural and am home alone all day but I figure other women do it... then so can I !! smile
