Swine flu shot while pregnant Rss

Hi Ladies
I am 22 weeks pregnant and my obs has advised me to get a swine flu shot. I don't feel comfortable getting it done. My gut instinct is not to get it done. Has anyone been pregnant and had it done and bubs has been fine?
I got it during my first pregnancy under my OB's advice and my little guy is perfectly healthy.

My OB told me that getting it would not only give me the antibodies but also my son and being a winter baby that was an advantage.

He is nearly 2 years old and has only ever had a couple of colds, nothing worse. Im not saying that is because of me having the vaccine, we generally avoid sick family/friends where possible.
I had all flu shots when pregnant first time round and am getting them done this time around too. Neither myself nor my daughter were affected in any way. I got the flu a few years ago (and I mean influenza, not a bad cold), and was hospitalised with it so I don't want a repeat performance.

But only do what you are comfortable with, other than pregnancy do you have any risk factors?

Hi Clax
No risk factors just really scared of getting the flu and swine flu shot while pregnant sad
Hi there - I am pregnant with baby number 5 and I had the flu shot last week - currently 25 weeks pregnant. I have also had it with my last two pregnancies with no problems with baby - I actually got the flu really bad while pregnant with baby number 2 and I would not wish it on anyone - I was really really sick with it and was worried about the baby the whole time - I feel alot better once I have had the shot knowing that I won't get sick like that again. Anyway just my expereince but certainly it is recommended while pregnant and I can understand why!!!! Hope this helps.

I can understand your doubts. I'm afraid to say I know someone who was paralysed as a direct result of the swine flu vaccine. I personally would not do anything that I didn't feel right in my stomach about cause I couldn't live with myself if I did it and something bad happened.

At work, we have flue shots but the nurses always ask if there is any way we could be pregnant as they won't give it to us if we are. There must be a reason for that .......
