Sinus and flying when pregnant? Rss

I need some advice. I'm taking antibiotics for a sinus infection which is causing me a lot of pain and discomfort. I'm not usually a sinus sufferer so am a bit shocked of the severity and how debilitating this can be. Of course, being pregnant I'm only using non medicated sprays and paracetamol to deal with it. Have also tried some inhalations, hot/cold compresses and have today bought a sinus irrigation kit! This is all gradually starting to help but I am taking a short flight on Sunday and am worried about the air pressure and what to do.
Does anyone have advise as to how to deal with this that is safe during pregnancy? I have read lots of info about taking various sinus drugs 1/2 hr before flying but these aren't ok for pregnancy. Would love to hear from any experienced sinus sufferes in this issue!

I would use a decongestant nose spray if I were you, I have had major sinus issues since being pregnant with number 2! I actually had surgery 3 days ago to fix it - I'm still recovering atm - and throughout my last 2 pregnancies I had constant blocked noses and sinus infections. I was told by both my midwife and my GP that it was ok to use decongestant nose sprays every now and then, which I did, I don't know what I would have done without them!! And I have had no probs with either pregnancy from using these smile

Thanks for the advice. Will def get a decongenstant, even if I just use it for the plane trip. Will also give Panadeine a try as I'm finding ordinary Panadol isn't giving much relief!
Thanks again. smile Good luck with the recovery, stef2909
